“Brides - look no further!!!”

We chose Chestnut Hill as our wedding location, and couldn't be happier! We stayed with our families at the B&B for the weekend and had a Saturday afternoon wedding/reception in the gorgeous back yard. Because of Troy and Kathleen's attention to detail and unsurpassed service, we were able to have the most relaxed, stress-free wedding imaginable. The newly finished landscaping created the perfect setting - the pathway leading to the new stone fountain surrounded by columns was beautiful and created many fantastic photo opportunities.

We arrived on Friday afternoon to homemade margaritas and a wide variety of heavy hors d'oeuvres. The gourmet breakfasts every morning were amazing, and Troy went out of his way to accommodate the several vegetarians in our group.

I can't even find the words to describe how beautiful and well-appointed the guest suites and common areas are. You can relax on the porch or new stone patio complete with waterfall and koi pond, or in the incredible basement with a stocked bar and fridge, large media center, and plenty of different seating areas.

Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back!

My wife and I stayed at Chestnut Hill for only 1 day, really wish it could've been more. I've never really been comfortable with the idea of B&B's. And now I'm afraid to visit any other than this one. I just know that none of them will measure up to what you get a the Chestnut Hill. Warm and inviting with razor sharp attention to detail. We recieved a pre trip phone call with a few "what do you guys like to drink" questions. Figuring our answers would help them point us in a good direction for vineyard tours. My wife mentioned that I was more of a spiced rum drinker, but would drink wine from time to time. When we arrived there was a bottle of red waiting for my wife and a bottle of Captain Morgans waiting for me!
Every attention to detail is taken care of from the manicured lawn to the real gas lanterns lining the driveway to turn down service and even great conversation.

Troy, you and your wife should get an award for a well run business and for more so what it felt like,....a well run home.

We look forward to visiting again. And attached (hopefully) is a picture of our bathroom in the Alexander Daly suite. Yep that's just the bathroom. HGTV needs to hear about this place and do a special.

Two years ago, my wife and I stayed in two separate chateaus in Bordeaux to tour the vineyards and generally spoil ourselves. We spent a fraction on our trip to Virginia wine country and had as fantastic of an experience. The Chestnut hill B&B was a big reason for this.
The B&B itself is located 40 miles northeast of charlottsville and provides a great jumping off location to tour approximately 40 vinyards, Montecello, Montplier and several quaint towns scattered through the rolling Virginia hills.
The property itself is located on a secluded lot that overlooks the town of Orange and houses several newly renovated rooms in addition to a “pub” that serves as a common room during evening appetizers.
The property alone would make this a good B&B, but Troy and Kathleen set it over the top. They were very helpful in planning outings, recommending restaurants, and suggesting wine tastings. The food served at the B&B is the highlight. Each of the three appetizers we had could have been on the chefs tasting menu that at the nearby restaurant (nothing to sneeze at itself). Will recommend and hopefully return.

What you have done here at Chestnut Hill is truly remarkable. The marraige of Old World charm and new world comforts and conveniences is perfect. The Ritz Carlton was always the standard we measured against - but now you've raised the bar. The beauty and elegance of the decore is breathtaking and the comfort and luxury of the suites are unmatched. Your out-of-this-world breakfast was unique and delicious. Our day trip to the skyline drive and expecially Luray Caverns was an unexpected surprise of natural beauty. Also our trip back into history at the Montecello was a must see. But above all those things being able to spend time with two of the sweetest people in the world is what we'll cherish most

truly remarkable, Kathleen and Troy have perfected the hospitality field. Every room is amazing and gives the much needed relaxing feel of old world roots with modern charm. The food is perfected and words cannot describe how great our stay was. We will come back for sure in the future!

We recently had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Chestnut Hill Bed and Breakfast. Husband and wife innkeepers Kathleen and Troy could do no wrong! The house is beyond lovely. The grounds are picture perfect. The food is mega star quality, both in taste and presentation. You never have to ask for anything-I believe they can read minds! They must be able to read each others because their individual talents come together seamlessly to provide one incredible experience.

Troy’s background is real estate but we think he must be moonlighting with a Food Network chef. We literally scraped our plates clean at every meal! He also stepped in and acted as our tour guide, mapping routes for us and suggesting places to explore and dine.

We arrived later than expected the first night and were quickly offered dinner. While they indicated it was no trouble because they were cooking for themselves anyhow, it was again lovely, delicious, beautifully presented and a welcome relief that we didn’t have to search for a restaurant after a long ride. Upon arrival, Kathleen offered us a much appreciated glass of wine from their extensive selection and a tour of the house to get us acquainted and wind down after a long day.

Kathleen and Troy have been official innkeepers for just a few months, but perhaps they should consider writing a book or training inn keeper wannabes on how to run an inn the right way! There can be no question that they have beautifully and lovingly restored a very historic house. More importantly, they have turned it into a warm and welcoming home. In the end, it was their kindness and attention to detail that really made our stay spectacular. They are friendly and very down to earth people who love people and love to make those people smile. You quickly feel like you’re visiting old friends. And you can’t wait to visit again…and again. Bravo! Our highest recommendation!
