“Pleasurable from the time you arrive until the time you leave.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

I love Eling Forest and everything about it. The coffee is hot and beautifully made. The menu is always interesting and freshly made on the premises. The cakes are to die for but I can not go past the Rustic Tart made with fresh fruit! The owners and staff are the friendliest you will find anywhere, nothing is too much trouble for them. Their wines are diverse so as to suit all different tastes I personally like them all! The Cellar Door is well appointed and warm and welcoming in Winter with the open fire. This quaint setting is relaxing and refreshing. It is my favourite place of all time and has been for a few years now and will continue to be for a long time to come. Thankyou to you all for creating a wonderful atmosphere.
Regards
Kerrie Huleatt and her many friends and family.

“Great place for a coffee and a bite to eat on your way to Canberra”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

Don't waste your time with Maccas or any of the other roadside food stops on your trip from Sydney to Canberra. This place is surprisingly refined for a place sitting just off the Hume Highway. Great coffee, lunch specials (excellent chicken and mushie pie) and sweet temptations served with a dollop of sweet cream. Well worth the wait about 1 hour from the edge of Sydney. Didn't try the wine but have heard is respectable. Picturesque location!

“Take a break with coffee, cake and friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

We stopped at Eling Forest between Sydney and Canberra for a mid-trip break and weren't disappointed. The driveway meanders through a beautiful property with a collection of quaint old buildings, including a restaurant and cafe/cellar door. Sadly we didn't have time to do a wine tasting, but we did have a coffee and some of the scrumptious homemade apple and raspberry tart with fresh cream. All of the staff were warm and charming. Will definitely be back, especially to try the wines. You can also access from both sides of the highway, so keep an eye out the next time you pass through:)

“A good stop along the Hume”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

A cosy lunch with good coffee and and wonderful apple pie to finish! Just what you need after driving round Canberra's circles. Then I found a beautiful bowl in the gallery which topped it all off. Won't try any other place on the next trip down the Hume. Also the staff were very helpful and efficient.

“Nothing beats this gem for a brief stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2012 via mobile

We drive regularly between Sydney and Canberra, but have only recently discovered this little cafe. We are now regulars, and fans!

Small, but very tasty menu. I think mostly home made. A recent example: white bean, pumpkin & chorizo soup with tarmesan toast. An excellent, warming meal, especially by the wood fire.

Excellent espresso coffee and tea -- is it the water? And lovely cakes and slices to accompany.

The only downside? Well, the toilet facilities, which are clean but limited.

Worth the visit
