We went to dinner with friends and family on Saturday night and had mixed results.Started with entrees (spring rolls, curry puffs, sauté chicken skewers ) all were beautiful.Alittle more sauté sauce wouldn't have gone astray. For mains we had Red curry duck very nice , garlic king prawns with a little chilli, the garlic was a bit much but still ok and chicken with cashew nuts , there was far to much onion in this dish, they could have called it onion with cashew nuts. The service was ok but it amazes me when they take the plates away they don't ask if you would like desert as there was 8 off us and they could have made an extra $50 - $60 dollars. Have been here approx. 5 times over the years and have enjoyed but just seemed to be a bit of the mark this time. Sit out the back as it has a nice authentic feel.

I've walked past this restaurant many times and it looks like hundreds of similar Asian restaurants all over Sydney... fairly ordinary looking, a few tables in a smallish main room and the inevitable Thai paintings and posters on the walls. But we'd been invited to dinner by some long-time friends who have been here many times and they raved about it. Not only was the food good they said, but the garden courtyard was something to see.

So we ventured out on a very cold Winters night and after entering the restaurant we were led out along the shared walkway (yes, there is a gentlemens club in the building upstairs so the usual jokes about taking the wrong path arose) and past the kitchen to a covered back room area which you would swear was in downtown Bangkok. Plenty of tables set amongst bamboo gardens and waterfalls greeted us and soon we were seated amongst other diners in this hidden gem in Penrith.

We'd all been to Asia so were familiar with the food which was excellent in every way and three dishes (chicken, curry and seafood) plus boiled rich left the four of us full.

Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is certainly in keeping with the theme... Thailand in the middle of Penrith.

Now that we know about this hidden gem we'll certainly be back.

We dined here on Friday 1 February 2013. Most of the dishes were average and presentation is not a key here. The key to any dishes is the sauce, the flavours and it seemed like it was out of a can because all of the dishes tasted much the same. We have been to many top quality Thai Restaurants and this restaurant is not in that category. They don't use coriander and basil usage is very limited or not at all. The dishes are not fine dining quality, but real homemade style. It is not cheap, and quantity is not plentiful or spicy. This restaurant is for locals who has never tasted authentic thai food.
