“Bad news!”
Reviewed December 29, 2010

This place I would not recommend to nobody.

Bad location, the place is filthy, accommodation is a bit like army style. The advertised Sports Club allows you only to Bowl and play tennis.

Apart from probably being the worst hotel I ever stayed in one positive point is the Workers Club next door (but has nothing to do with the hotel), they serve super buffet for a very reasonable price.

Stayed here for a sporting camp with hubby and two children and found the location to be handy to everything. Friendly staff at reception. Room very tidy, grounds spacious. Would stay here again

We'd booked our hotels for Australia in advance, but due to unforseen problems at one of our choices we were unable to stay there so had to book somewhere on the day, having stayed in Travelodge in the UK, I was reluctant about getting there and being dissapointed, but I was surprised.
Very modern, had EVERYTHING we needed the staff were lovely, and so were the room service ladies.
We had a little kitchen area, with a fridge and microwave so were able to cook our own foods.
There was a free ice machine, which came in handy with the heat beaming in.
There is a bus stop outside the hotel, and a 10 minute journey to Blacktown shopping centre, then the following stop the train Station, they come every half hour and it costs $3.30 single.
Though I did witness HUGE cockroaches in the hotel lobby.

I stayed here for one night in April while on business in western Sydney. There is limited accommodation available in Blacktown, so after checking all available options with tripadvisor, I settled on this one. The room was clean, fairly spacious, and included a couch and microwave oven. As other reviewers have said it's conveniently located next to a large club and I heard nothing from the club on the 3rd floor. It's not at all palatial but it's adequate and the staff were friendly and attentive.

I stayed 1 night at the Blacktown Travelodge and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and value for money. There was a special rate of $89.00 per room. I was given a beautiful corner room on the 3rd floor with a queen bed, sofa, table and chairs for 2 persons. Being a corner room it had 2 windows and plenty of natural light and although it faced a main road, I was not bothered by traffic noise. (I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and that room seemed a lot smaller with one window, so I suggest you ask for a corner room if possible) The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern with shower, toilet, hair dryer but no bath. There was a flatscreen TV with reasonable reception, iron, ironing board, bar fridge, coffee/tea making facilities including milk. The hotel is connected next door to the Blacktown Workers Sports Club which has Bars, restaurant and poker/slot machines. It is hard to believe that you would find a better deal in Sydney for quality and value. This hotel would be a good base if you had a car and wanted to explore Sydney and the Blue Mountains. It is close to the Highway and Motorways, about 1 hour by car to Sydney City and Sydney beaches and about 1 hour to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. About a 15 minute drive to the local shopping centre and train station at Blacktown. There is a public bus service which could take you to the train station. If you are new to Sydney some suggestions, visit Taronga Zoo, A day trip to Manly Beach by ferry from Sydney Circular Quay, visit the Blue Mountains, go to the Lookout on the southern Pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Vist the Rocks are of Sydney. Hop around Sydney Harbour on a ferry. The only downside to the hotel's location is that it is not close to the train station and shopping centre if you don't have a car. There is also a Macdonalds restuarant next door to the hotel and a 711 service station about a block away.

Stayed one night, next to RSL Club so convienent for food and drink, Maccas accross the road.

Room and bathroom very clean, staff friendly and handled registration and check promptly without fuss.

Price better than surrounding Parramatta locations. Hidden gem for western suburbs of Sydney.

Good thing is when you book online via their own website they don't take the funds from your credit card until you actually check in. (there is a cancelation policy for less than 24hours, but the nightly rate was not high)

Would stay again excellent value.

Son and I stayed for one night whilst on business. Very friendly and helpful man booked us in rather late at night, advised us about local restaurants who would deliver to room and arranged late checkout of 12pm for us. So far so good.
Room was very pleasant and clean, with what seemed to be new beds and decor. Beds were very comfortable, however there was no hot water left for a shower. Meal from local Italian restaurant was delicious so settled in for a good nights rest, despite the cold shower.
Was awoken by a very abrupt call in the morning telling us to be out of the room by 11am. Said I thought it was 12pm, told no.
Sent son to reception with copy of booking showing late 12pm checkout, to which answer was öh". No apology offered for phone call or attitude.
When booking out at 12pm the receptionist did not utter a word other than to ask for my credit card. Was very cool and my son commented that she should never consider going for the "miss personality"award. Did not enquire about our stay or even wish us good day and promptly disappeared back to the office.
Such a pity and a contrast with the man who booked us in. She really needs to brush up on her people skills or get a job that doesn't require her to work on a Sunday and face the public.

  • Liked — Comfortable beds and great local restaurant room delivery
  • Disliked — Rude woman on checkout.
