Description: On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment. Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.

“Nice view, ok service. Food nothing special”

Went here for breakfast one day and dinner one night. Breakfast was ok, but its really hard to mess up breakfast.

Service was good and the people were friendly and helpful.

Dinner was ordinary. Again it was fine, but ordinary. Fresh fish was good but nothing special. I'd rather go to Lelanni's next door.

“Good food, good service - highly recommended”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2014

We ate here with my son for dinner having made a reservation earlier in the day. We were promptly seated with a view my wife fell in love with. Our waiter was excellent, friendly and made a point of interacting with my 4 year old son, even learning his name and referring to him by it during dinner. Explanations of the specials were accurate and delivery of the food prompt. Food quality was fantastic with super fresh fish and good quality presentation. Both of us had the fish specials of the day and were impressed with how well it was cooked. Flavours were well balanced. Price was moderate but fair considering the view and quality of the food. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

“Cute different and fun place to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014

Enjoyed meeting with friends while on Maui. Sat at a table while our feet rested in the sand - very fun! We didn't have any wait time and although busy, we had great service and didn't have to wait very long for our food. Staff was very friendly. Food was good and reasonable priced.

“Good food and great view! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

We had our first lunch in Maui at the Hula Grill and really enjoyed it! We sat in the outdoor dining room (not on the sand) and didn't have a wait for lunch at all. Everyone who got the fish tacos loved them, and the chicken focaccia sandwich was delicious as well! They have some great Hawaiian beer on tap and the lava flow was delicious, as they always are. We had gorgeous weather and could even see whales jumping from where we sat! They had musical entertainment outside as well, which only added to the wonderful laid back vacation feel. I would definitely recommend a meal at Hula Grill!

“kinda disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

Fish tacos - not so great - they really didn't have much flavor, had to get some extra jalapeño sauce. Daughters had the BBQ pork sandwiches, they said the were ok but wouldn't get them again. Service was so so as well. Lots of options - just remember you are in Hawaii so its all good.
