Description: On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment. Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.

Went to Hula Grill tonight and asked for reservations in the barefoot lounge, told about 45 minutes. Buzzed us in about 30min, which was great because we needed a drink and was getting hungry (7pm). We unfortunately were placed at the table that was 3 feet from the host desk and we were not in sand. ( hence the barefoot lounge). Restaurant was packed, but we asked to be moved when other tables left, unfortunately they could not accommodate us, but instead we were given a discount (refill prices) on our non-alcoholic mocktails. It was a pleasant gesture as most restaurants would of done nothing. I started off with a "woo-woo" which was a very nice cocktail with peach booze. The mocktails were excellent as well. My wife and I shared the macadamia and crab won tons which were amazing, the negative part about this dish is that the spicy mustard sauce to dip them in does not complement this dish at all. I would strongly recommend a sweet Thai sauce, the spicy mustard sauce was not good at all. We ate the wontons without the sauce. For our dinner we shared the Thai Chicken Pizza. The pizza was very tasty, the only thing I could recommend is a bit more chicken as it was a bit scarce, but the pizza was very good. The live music and hula girl gave the atmosphere a 5/5. Would recommend this restaurant and would go back again.

Just finished up dinner with my wife and son at hula grill. For a busy place we didn't have to wait long for food. There was a one hour wait for a table or they offered for us to sit at the bar in front of the open kitchen. If given the choice do this! The chefs so quick, clean and fascinating to watch. We saw our food prepared before our eyes. They even had a good sense of humor and didn't mind my 11 month old watching their every move with the utter most interest. The guy who served our area wasn't someone ill remember the moment I walked out but I don't think that ruined the experience we had. The chefs more then made up for that.

We ordered the seafood chowder, fish tacos & seafood pot stickers & for desert the Hawaiian bake & coconut creme brûlée. All were amazing with the exception of the creme brûlée which was only ok.

Side note. There was an older guy who must have been waiting another area close to ours who was very friendly and while we were waiting for the person who was meant to be serving our area he took it upon himself to get us some water and some bread so my son could snack on something while we waited. Hang loose & Hawaii high five to that guy!

Live music for lunch every day. Right on the water and service was fast and courteous. Prices were not too high and atmosphere was so Hawaii. We always have several meals here when in Maui.

This place was phenomenal. Probably the best Ahi Steak I have ever had. Great atmosphere and great view of the water. Also a short walk to a lot of the resorts in that area!!! Pineapple Upside-down Cake was no joke either....order it!!!!

We ate dinner here twice because the food was very good and the service outstanding. If you order the chicken, be prepared to take some away because the portion is huge. My husband had a steak the first time and fish the second, and reports that both meals were cooked perfectly. The second time were were there, I had an interesting vegetarian dish that featured a perfectly marinated and grilled piece of tofu, lots of veggies, and a delicious Asian-style sauce.Their cocktails are interesting. Ultimately, this is a nice choice for a relaxing dinner.
