Description: On the water's edge on Kaanapali Beach, Hula Grill offers a stunning view of the Pacific and of the islands of Lanai and Molokai that has to be seen to be believed. From this distinctly Hawaiian vantage point, you are invited to join us as we celebrate the hospitality, culture and cuisine of the islands. Dinner is served in our open-air dining room where you can relax in the ambiance of a plantation era beach house while enjoying renown chef Peter Merriman's Hawaii regional seafood that isn't only a favorite of vacationers, but locals, too. Hawaiian fresh fish and locally grown produce are combined to create amazing menu offerings that are as colorful as they are flavorful. Fiery sunsets are served up daily along with live Hawaiian entertainment. Our Barefoot Bar offers a more casual menu serving both lunch and dinner under authentic thatch roof umbrellas and a sand floor where you can sink your toes in. The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis only.

We never planned ahead so couldn't get into the resturant but ate at the BareFoot Bar. Good Pub food, especially liked the pulled pork. Hula pie was very good and so very large.

“Great spot.”

Only had appetizers at the bar here, but they were outstanding.
It's right on the beach, wanted to go here for dinner but didn't workout.

“Good but you pay big for location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

We really like the one in Waikiki, so we had high expectations. This one is overrated. Best we can say is that your paying for location and reputation. One thing that just can't be beat is their sweet "Chili Pepper water". We should have bought a couple of bottles! Most folks use it with their bread, similar to how you would use olive oil & garlic. We were a party of six plus two children under 3. The children were no problem even for a late dinner, as there were several families with children in the restaurant, and the wait staff is very accommodating. All but one of us had fish courses, and one had the steak; one child had a bowl of broccoli, and the other had a few bites from their parents plate For what we had I thought the bill pretty high. Almost all of us had only one wine or beer, one couple had an appetizer. and none of us had desert; yet the bill was close to $400.00. Kind of pricy even if we were on vacation! So although Jerry was a great waiter and we certainly appreciated his help and recommendations. It was just too expensive and the quality of the dinner though good, was less than what we expected.

“Great atmosphere, service and food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

On our stay on Ka'anapali Beach we ate at the Hula Grill 3 times! You really can't beat the location (in Whaler's Village) the view (overlooking the beach!), the food and the service! I ordered the local fish specials each night, while my husband ordered the steak, and other people ordered the macadamia encrusted fish. ALL was very good. Our waiters we had were all very friendly and welcoming to us each time we were there. Make sure to call beforehand to make a reservation for an outdoor table right by the lawn on the "nicer" side. (They have a more casual side in the sand which I believe has a different menu). Each night we saw the most beautiful sunsets while we were there. Definitly a great restaurant while staying in the area!

“loved everything”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

The drink I had was so good (ginger beer one, forgot the name) and I had the fish and chips at the barefoot bar. The fish and chips were extrordinary! Get a side of the jalapeno aioli and dip everything in it. The waitress Jenn was so sweet and when we got home they even mailed us a hand written note thanking us for dining with them. Beautiful view and nice music in the afternoon. Love it here.
