We went here because of the great view and we wanted a good meal, and got both.
We had before dinner drinks and did not find them watered down at all. Very tasty in fact.
We were early so had the dukes taster meal. The salad was o.k. Nothing special, but the Mac nut fish was to die for.
We both had the hula pie..warning...it is huge! We could have shared as we both could not finish it.
The wait staff was very good also.
We will be coming back later in the week for more fish.

for some reason I was expecting something more casual. Wasn't the atmosphere I was in the mood for that night.. but actually turned out to be perfect. little pricey, but I was not disappointed .

Pricey--ok service--not good for happy hour unless you want beer. But the fries were awesome. Breakfast not bad but expensive.

First, I'd like to say that finding Dukes at night, if driving to the restaurant, is a chore. Even Garmin was confused about the location. Signage leading the Duke's restaurant were small and not obvious. It would be best for you to just set your destination for the Honua Kai Resort and Spa, park in the parking lot near the front entrance, walk completely through the Resort towards the beach, and you'll find it near the boardwalk/beach. Anyway, it was well worth the trek.

We arrived after sunset so the view of the ocean was lost; but, the tropical setting, openness of restaurant, and the restaurant decor are what you expect when dinning in Hawaii: grass hut roofs, torch lighting, live Hawaiian music and lots of Aloha.

We started with drinks and the Steamed Pork Buns appetizer: Korean marinated pork, pickled vegetables, hoisin, cilantro, sriracha, steamed rice bun; this was delicious.

My wife had a Cheese Ravioli with shrimp, butter sauce with basil oil. She said it was the her best meal on Maui this vacation...and it was near the end of our 2 weeks.

I had one of the special entree's of the night: mahi mahi and opakapaka, one in cooked in teriaki sauce the other crusted with macadamia nuts. It also included some teriaki pasta. I savored each and every mouthful... it was fantastic.

Of course we finished with the Kimos Original Hula Pie. The menu states this is what the sailors swam to shore for in lahaina: oreo cookie crust, macadamia nut ice cream, hot fudge & whipped cream.

This meal ranked as the best we had on Maui this vacation. We will return again.
