We had dinner on the outside patio overlooking the water as the sun went down. It was a great dining experience! I had the 'dig me' daiquiri ( yum) and my husband had wine. I also had the rocket salad, and the fish and shrimp steamed in banana leaves. My husband had the mac nut and herb crusted fish , which seemed to be a popular entree among fellow diners. All the food was excellent! The waiter found out it was our first trip to Maui- a belated 25th anniversary trip- and presented us with a complimentary HUGE piece of their simply fabulous hula pie, as well as an offer for another free piece on our next visit! He also kindly took photos of us, and I have to mention that he was extremely well versed in all menu offerings and helped us make our dinner choices, as well as telling us about their breakfast offerings in case we were interested in returning another day ( we were staying nearby).
We enjoyed our dinner so much that we did indeed return , this time for breakfast. What can I say about their fresh squeezed tropical juice and mac-nut banana pancakes ( with coconut syrup) except YUM! Pancake portions are extremely generous, and neither of us were able to finish them. It was a simply delicious breakfast, and the coffee was great, too.
As we left, we happened to notice a small souvenir kiosk around the back of the hostess station. They have really nice t-shirts as well as other items, and we were able to make progress in our quest for souvenirs to take home for everyone- we bought a nice T-shirt, a glass tiki mug, and several Duke's tote bags.
