“Great local joint on the island”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

I have been coming here for years. I love the bartender staff and all the servers are really attentive. The hamburgers are good but a lot of the menu is just ok. Fries overdone, fish is usually dry, macaroni horrible milky cheesy so choose carefully. The acoustics here for music is terrible. The old carpeted place with booths was better. Well you use to dance too. Miss that! The (nicer) wood floors echo the band and then people have to talk louder so it is not what it could be for artists to play. The worst thing are the prison bar stools. Uncomfortable metal backrest and thin seat. Still will come but not stay long.

“Amazing Food!”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Love the food here, great for lunch or dinner. I've never had breakfast here before but I think that it is only on the weekends. Tried the pot roast when I was here last week and it was honestly some of the best i've had. Really fun atmosphere and everyone is really nice. Drafts were only like 3 or 4$ during the football games which is pretty good for Newport Beach. They have music at night and the bands are all pretty decent, but the food is the best part about this place. Check it out next time you're in Newport!

“Great Drink Menu”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

It was difficult to decide on one drink after reading all of the descriptions. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered. After a couple of drinks we ordered some appetizers. These were just as good as our first course (the drinks). Our server(s) was great. Water was refilled without asking. We had a fun couple of hours and I'm sure I'll return on my next trip to Balboa Island.

They have new owners and they are really working hard and doing a great job. They have live music most nights. The fish sandwich was great!
