I stayed here with my best friend. We shared a king bed but it was plenty big enough and we slept great, quiet and dark rooms. Wonderful, COZY bed and breakfast with scones every morning. We made friends with a college aged couple traveling who were in the room next to us, and an older retired couple in the other room. Quiet and comfortable. The couple who run it are like extended family. I would definitely recommend this. Small rooms but they have all you need!

If this is your first time visiting Culebra - this is the place to stay!! Susan is located near the ferry and places to eat PLUS right next door to a Carlos car/cart rental which you can rent for 24hours at a time to see the different beaches around the island! Susan made the most delicious scones every morning with hot fresh coffee and was there for us if we had any crazy questions about the island!! Sweet service and feeling welcomed helped my husband and I not freak out with two kids and a baby on an island! The Guesthouse is like staying with a relative - trustworthy, clean and very welcoming! My kids LOVED Jock the big grey dog - they still talk and pray for him! The cargo ferry ride to Culebra was rough but coming back we took the passenger ferry which was very nice! Take food with you to the Culebra - unless you want to pay $20+ per person to eat at a restaurant or pay island prices for snacks. We will be back!

Everything about the guesthouse was great. The owners are friendly and attentive. The house is conveniently located near town as well as a car rental and grocery store. The coffee and scones in the morning were delicious and the beach materials (including chairs, coolers, and snorkeling equipment) were super convenient. Access to kitchen facilities was a great way to save on cost. Plus, they picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry and even gave us a ride to the beach to catch the afternoon rays the first day we arrived. Would definitely stay with them again!

This was our first visit to Culebra and Susan and Paul made our trip. They even took us out on their yacht. Susan made delicious scones daily. We stayed in the oleander room- it had ac, a ceiling fan and a good bathroom. The guest house has ample beach gear to borrow including boogie boards. Carlos jeep rental is just around the corner. We rented a golf cart for $45/day and it was well worth it. We buzzed around the island at a beautiful pace, nice and relaxed. We spent 4 days at the guesthouse and it was our highlight of a 10 day trip.

We recently stayed at the Palmetto Guesthouse for 10 days this month. Paul and Susan were great hosts. They are very friendly, helpful, funny and good company. We would highly recommend staying there for your time in Culebra. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The homemade scones and coffee are delicious. Beach towel, chairs, boogie boards and snorkel equipment are available for patrons to use. The location is great because it is a short distance to walk into town.
We also had a great time sailing with them to Culebrita and towards St. Thomas. Paul is a experienced captain with a lot of sailing information to share. Those trips were amazing and we cannot thank them enough for the pleasant time and good conversation, yarggh.

Recently stayed at the Palmetto. The experience was a tad disappointing. The pick up/drop off service was much appreciated. The room was clean and the bed comfortable enough. Nothing fancy. The water and electricity went out for portions of our stay, and considering the owners hardly batted an eye, this seems to be par for the course for Culebra. You will likely find an ocassional insect around the guest house. Also, do not expect that your room will be quiet. You will awake in the morning to dogs barking and roosters crowing. As well, you can hear the owners talking upstairs and walking about. I would recommend this place to people who know what they want to do every day and have an agenda. The owners are helpful, but you may only see them briefly in the morning and throughout the day. It is not close to the beach and not quite in town either. It is good if you want to borrow the guesthouse's snorkel equipment and beach chairs, and have a cart or car to get you to the beach.

Thank you for staying at our Guesthouse and for your review. However, I feel that I must answer some of your commentary. it was unfortunate that the water and later in the evening the power was accidentally cut off in the whole neighborhood, both events were totally out of our control, but we did not, as you stated, just "bat an eye", we deliberately drove around town until we found the water company engineer, and as a result he re-instated our neighborhood's service first, the water was out from 4 to 7 pm. These are not "normal" occurrences. If you find an insect around our premises they'll be dead, as we use a Pest Control Company monthly to keep our premises "bug free", as much as one can in a tropical environment. One of us is generally always on hand between 8 am and 7 pm to provide service, which we certainly did, your husband regularly visited us throughout your stay with questions. We consider our services to our guests as our number 1 priority, and I apologize that we did not exceed our expectations in your case.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Palmetto Guesthouse in February. Susan and Paul were amazing hosts- we arrived on an early flight and they graciously stored our luggage until we could check into our rooms later in the day. We were immediately hooked up with beach towels and a ride to the beach and we headed out to explore. They were so helpful in suggesting places to eat and places to visit on the island. We loved the ability to walk into town and to some of the beaches as well as the ease with which we could catch the taxi/buses. The room was small but exceptionally clean and comfortable and we very much enjoyed the company of fellow guests in the communal sitting area. A delicious warm scone in the morning was the perfect way to start off the day! We would definitely stay here again!
