“Rico at Villa Boheme made our trip unforgettable!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2012

Rico, one of the owners made our trip to Culebra absolutely unforgettable. We spent the day out at Culebrita and he made our day magic! Villa Boheme and it's owners are truley great. Their place is right on the water, and has everything you need while being close to everywhere you want to go. I can't imagine staying anywhere else and can't wait until we get to back and stay here. Rico will make your stay perfect, with a big smile and welcoming attitude. I can't recommend this place enough. They're fantastic!

Villa Boheme is right on the harbor in Culebra. A wall separates the hotel from the street, and once inside you're in a little slice of paradise. There is lots of outdoor common space with hammocks, tables and chairs, and views of the boats in the harbor. there's also a shared kitchen which is really convenient. the rooms themselves have basic amenities, nothing too fancy or upscale, but clean.

Rico the owner is really great - for $30 he can take you out in his boat to go snorkeling or to Culebrita. he's really friendly and had beer for us to enjoy on board! Culebrita is incredible, Tortuga Beach is one of the nicest I saw in Puerto Rico. the hotel is family owned and is a great spot.

I've spent two spring breaks on Culebra, both times staying at the lovely Villa Boheme. It offers prime location on the bay with walking proximity to the town center, grocery, restaurants, and my family's favorite, the library. Despite this closeness to town, it's a very quiet place and one can rest easily. My favorite place is the wide patio, that spans the entire property. My family of four would read and visit with other guests throughout the day and into the evening, with great comfort. And one cannot say enough about the owner, "Rico," who makes every effort to ensure that our needs were met. This is definitely the best place for any traveler seeking a unique property run by great people.

Just spent 10 days at Villa Boheme and couldn't be more pleased. I stayed in both Rooms 10 & 11 and loved the space, kitchen, and private balcony over the water. Best deal on the island: Owner Rico's water taxi. He guided us to both Luis Pena and Culebrita for $30 each-- great price, and both places fantastic for swimming and snorkeling. Tortuga Beach on Culebrita was the most beautiful swimming beach I've ever seen, and nobody else was there!
Can't say enough about how great Villa Boheme is.

Room Tip: 10 for families & 11 for couples are wonderful

I have led creative writing & yoga retreats in many countries over the past 15 years, and by now I have good instincts for a retreat facility's quality and authenticity. What a treasure we found in Villa Boheme. With architecture right out of the Caribbean of the '50's, this small hotel of 11 clean, cool rooms sits on a lovely harbor of sailboats and dinghys. It features gifted massage therapist, Susan Russ; is next door to a family-owned shop for snorkle, bike & kayak rentals; and is only two doors from the outstanding Dinghy Dock restaurant and bar. A major reason Villa Boheme is so special, is the host (and former Seattle Mariner short stop), Rico Rossy. Rico is smart, warm, entertaining and helpful: service to his guests comes first; and no problem is too difficult to solve. In his own boat, Captain Rico takes guests to the best snorkle and swim beaches on Culebra, Luis Peña and Culebrita islands, and makes sure even the most novice snorkler is safe. For a group like ours, of writers & yoginis, or for others like meditators, naturalists, photographers, I can recommend Villa Boheme most highly. For individuals and families, it is a place you will love and want to come back to.

Room Tip: All rooms have private baths, A/C, ceiling fans; several rooms have full kitchens. There is a full k...

We had a wonderful family trip to Puerto Rico with our 3 adult children. We started in El Junque and then onto Culebra where we stayed at Villa Boheme. It was a wonderful oasis wherewe could visit and relax in the patio area on the water and cook in the shared kitchen. We were within walkng distance to restaurants and the grocery store. The grounds and rooms were clean and the staff helpful and friendly. We rented our snorkel equipment right there. Thanks Villa Boheme!

Both beautiful and welcoming place, with space for privacy but a feel of community. People, both staff and guests, are very friendly.

Located directly on water [see photos], Villa Boheme has a long, wide esplanade that runs the length of the building and provides many different nooks—with various types of hammocks, lounges, mosaic-decorated tables and benches, and colorful sculptures and plants—for people to sit and read, visit, or just stare at the ocean. Morning doves hang around. A communal kitchen/tv room, also by the water, lets you visit if you want with fellow travelers while you're cooking and also saves a whole lot of money on eating out. [It's equipped with all cooking gear as well as essentials: olive oil, some herbs and spices, and a "use me" shelf of peanut butter and the like that other guests have left.] We bought food at the Friday farmer's market and at the little store around the corner and came in under budget for five days in paradise.

Flamenco Beach, tagged "second most beautiful in the world" next to Bora Bora, is a $3 taxi ride and about 15 minutes away. All in all, a perfect escape.
