We have been going to Culebra for a few years and are so happy about the addition of Zaco's Tacos. It is one of our dinner staples when we are there, but as others have said you need to get there earlier to make sure you get a table. Even if there is a wait, you can grab a drink at the bar and hang out on the new lower deck in the back, behind the dining deck. Big cushioned seating benches and steps down to the back yard with a tree swing for the kids.
We have tried most things on the menu and never had anything bad. I am completely obsessed with the pork belly taco, I have to get one every time and crave it in between trips. Hubby loves the tuna and carnitas, burritos and burrito bowls are awesome, nachos are good salad for our picky vegetarian daughter and if they are offering the guacamole, you MUST get it! I agree with other reviewers, the hibiscus margs are yummy, as are most of the ones they make and you should try one even if you aren't a big margarita drinker. For all this, the prices are really reasonable too!
Staff does an amazing job with the busy pace and the sometimes confused patron. As it's a converted house, you walk right into the bar area and there is no hostess stand, just a very busy bartender. You have to walk past the bar and out the door to go to the back dining deck, where usually one of the servers is keeping track of the waiting list. Can sometimes cause confusion as they may not be there immediately (they are serving too remember!) and if a table is in between seatings, some people rush to grab the open table, not knowing there may be a wait. Stay, it's worth the wait!
