This is a no frills family style restaurant run by it's only employee and owner, Barbara.
It's BYOB and tables on the patio. You order your food at the small window opening inside and pick it up when you are called. We had the grouper which was sauteed and done perfectly. Juicy, tasty and accompanied with fried potatoe wedges and a house salad.( all the dressing are inside next to the ordering window) Just dress your salad and return the dressings.
All the patrons (mostly locals) were friendly and helped any unknowing guests the procedure for ordering and seating (sit where you want). It's only Barbara but she does it well!

This place is just amazing as is Barbara! She probably cooks for 50-100 people every night all by herself! There is no one helping her and EVERYTHING was made from scratch.

Being in the food business myself, I wanted to go back and help her!

This is a place that you want to go to relax and enjoy the evening. Not as part of a tight schedule. Like I said she is by herself so she cooks one group at a time so if you are behind 3 other tables, it is going to be an hour.

If you plan on this ahead, pack a cooler or a couple of bottles of wine and plan on just relaxing and getting to know the others that are dining there, you are going to love it.

Prices are the BEST on the island for what you get. We had a huge piece of sautéed grouper, Fish & Chips made with snapper, a chicken parmesan meal and a bacon cheeseburger. Total bill with tip was $40.

Bring a cooler with Beer, Rum Punch or wine, get a table, go into her living room and check out the menu and place your order with Barbara, then relax and enjoy until she calls your name.

The food was honest and fresh. I liked my cheese burger and wife ordered the seafood stroganoff- though after years in Italy- a kind of concoction that didn't necessarily work for her. What is wrong with simple grilled seafood on Culebra?- everything has a sauce or is sauteed or fried. I suspect the culprit is frozen food supplies- a necessity on this small island. Barbara Rose has a pleasant front porch under a portico where one eats after ordering from her at the kitchen window. The food was otherwise much better value than other more pretentious establishments on the island.

The first thing I got to say about the Barbara Rosa's Restaurant is that the location on Yelp and tripadvisor's map is not accurate. The restaurant is located on the left side of road 250 if you driving to the flamenco beach before the jeep rental location.

The restaurant is actually Rosa's home, we order in her living room, the restaurant is quite quiet, there are no music and the background sound is the TV's sound from the living room. When we enter her living room, Rosa is reading a book, and her cat lying on sofa. The cat is very friendly, she come lying on our legs when we are waiting for our food!

The food here is also very delicious, the fried mushroom are good, and grouper is also good. But remember to bring your own drinks, the only drink Rosa has is soda.

Really good, straightforward local cooking. You order at a window in her living room with her kitchen behind her, and sit outside on the covered patio. BYOB. We make sure to eat here on every visit to Culebra.
