“travelers warning do not stay in this hotel”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

My wife and i have been teaveling and writting reviews for trip advisor for over ten years and we hace NEVER NEVER stayed at a hotel such as a DUMP like this one, Please read this very carefully before making a reservation here. I am a marriot reward member and when i made this reservation i requested a refrigerator for thr room as the weather a couple of weeks ago wwhen we stayed here where in the 90)s and my wife had medication that needed to be refridgerated. So when i checked into my roo i noticed that the refrigerator was removed from the cabinet, I then returned to the front desk advising them of the condition, they then told me that all the refrigerators were removed and only limited rooms had them ,however none were available and i then asked if i can extra to have one put in the room they said no and then when i asked about the medication that needed to be kept cold they told me to you ice.. So how in earth colud this be a COURTYARD by MARRIOT hotel as the standards for this hotel WERE VERY POOR. eeven HOLIDA INN gives you a refrigerator oh and another rip off is that they will try to charge you 8 dollars a day to park your car when in fact parking is free as people come and go into the casino parking there cars all times of the day and night free, the rooms were even not up to marriot standards as the bedding was ripped. Mr Eric Ruiz Colon is the GM of the hotel as i will writting a letter to his superiors in the corparation as i dont think they are aware of MR Colons actions in removing refrigerators from the room as this NOT NOT a COURTYARD MARRIOT HOTEL

Room Tip: do not stay in this hotel travel 30 minutes more to rincon puerto rico for better hotels

Overall the hotel is super clean, comfortable beds, nice tv's, and nice bathrooms. The kids pool with slides is a plus and it has the adults pool right by it. Good casino and friendly staff. There is not many things to do or eat around this area, the best beach in Aguadilla is about a 10 mins drive and the lobby seems to be very loud and crowed all the time though. I was here for business and couldn't ask for more.

Room Tip: If you are looking a beach hotel this is not for you, otherwise it is perfect for business and famil...

It's an OK property if you need a place to stay because you're working or visiting nearby. I would not come here unless I had to, certainly not for a vacation. Very loud in the rooms because of nearby construction. Food at restaurant is fair, prices are high (but that's Puerto Rico). Service can be very slow, I'm writing this as I'm waiting for the maintainence man to come unlock the safe in my room (Shouldn't they check this when the room is cleaned? Oh wait, this is Puerto Rico). Getting a drink in the bar can be time-consuming because the bartender is busy laughing it up with the waiters instead of serving the customers (once again, Puerto Rico). Why anyone comes here for vacation is a mystery when Punta Cana is so close?

I visited this hotel with my wife in October 2012. I will summarize our experience below in groups of pros and cons, but let me state from the outset that balancing these pros/cons leads us to not want to return this hotel in the future. The list below is based exclusively on our observations. If the hotel staff reads this, there is no reason to respond as I really do not care, since we are not really even planning to return to Puerto Rico as we believe PR is generally too expensive for what it is.
PROS: hotel was clean overall, staff was helpful and relatively quick when we needed something, the bed was comfortable, the flat screen tv was nice. When we asked for a room with a fridge they accomodated our request immediately. That was nice. The room had a very cool safe (free), on which you could set your own pin#. The RB restaurant in the hotel was nice, food was good, but a bit overpriced, like everything in Puerto Rico. Do not order the pizza, though, it is just a ton of cheese. The calamary and chicken fajitas were our favorites. Waiters were nice and service was relatively quick.
CONS: 1) NOISE! The AC unit was super loud, plus, there was some construction site right across from the hotel generating a massive amount of noise starting like 6 am every workday! We never got decent sleep. 2) Slow water flow. Sometimes it got even slower. When you take a shower it would be nice to have some decent water pressure. 3) No microwave in the room (there is one in the lobby only). 4) No fridge in most rooms. We complained and got a room that had one, but it was tiny. 5) There was not a list of tv channels in the room, so we constantly needed to guess what the channels were. Also, almost every channel had a different volume, and some were permanently mute. 6) The ventilation in the bathroom was almost non-existent. Every hotel should have good ventilation. 7) No wireless Internet in the rooms. There is only wired Internet, so your laptop becomes a desktop and only one person can use it at a time. Common areas had wireless, but hey, after a shower is that really where you want to be instead of chilling in your bed? 8) Continental breakfast and parking came at a fee. These should be included in the price, since this hotel is not exactly in the heart of a big city and it is still quite expensive. Continental breakfast is too expensive for what it is. Also, watch out for the fruits, my wife ate some melons, complained that they tasted a bit weird and later she was sick the whole day with a stomach bug, so much for a nice day at the beach... 9) Elevator was frequently broken. 10) We asked in the RB restaurant if we could eat outside, since there were tables and chairs. They said no, but the next evening we saw people being served out there, so that was weird. 11) Our room did not smell great, but after a short time in the room we did not notice that anymore, but did notice it each time we came back from someplace. 12) Sub-par view. If you look it up on the map, this hotel is close to the beach, and has a certain elevation, yet, our view was a construction site of some kind with a lot of earth movers that were responsible for the noise mentioned earlier.

Room Tip: choose a different hotel.

I stayed for one night, since we were at a surf competition in Isabela. The rooms were clean, although the pillows smelled kind of funny. It has a very awkward distribution, since we had to walk a little bit much in comparison of the Isla Verde hotel, to our room, but the hotel was very quiet. My only concern was that the fire alarm was activated at 5am and the security staff didn't answer when asked if it was an emergency or not and people didn't know what to do.

This Courtyard in Aguadilla would be a Marriott property in the States. A full service restaurant and a casino make this a popular local attraction. The hotel is an Navy Base hospital on the cliffs near Rincon, near the Aguadilla airport. Very convienient location for traveling to Rincon, Anasco or Mayaguez. Highly recommended.

Ver good place, clean, confortable and excellent service. Facilities are well maintained, casino and music in the lobby entertainment option. I recommend it if you will be around the west side of Puerto Rico.
