Boca Loca is another clever creation from the owners of Caricaturas (Corozal) and the now-local staple Desecheo. It's just as family friendly and cozy as the former and about as original as the latter. Boca Loca seeks to present the guest with a number of staple dishes from across all of latin america; Argentinian Churrasco, Peruvian Salteados and Ceviches, and so on.
Service is prompt and attentive and the decor is cool and inviting. The cushions on the seats are clever-looking, but they could be much cleaner. Do yourself a favor and just get them out of the way.
The food is well seasoned, very well cooked, well plated, and the portions are generous. Meat lovers will be pleased, since the options include everything from chicken, to pork, beef, and even chorizo (the GOOD kind, not the cheap, greasy variety that is so often served elsewhere). The wait is just a bit longer than I would expect from such a well staffed place. I would expect the place to move not that much slower than Desecheo, although the menu here is quite larger, which probably accounts for the delay: variety takes up time.
Prices are good if you manage to stick to the specials and avoid the temptation to venture on to the "a la carte" section. The offers are enticing, but the price is on the premium side. Also, keep an eye out for expensive adders such as dessert and specialty drinks: they can fatten up the check quite fast. However, if you want to treat yourself to a good cup of coffee, do so: it is excellent.
A friendly, chic and cozy place with great staff and great food. Good for lunch, family outings or even a date. Enjoy!
