We spent March break at the Playa Coco - the weather cooperated and except for a couple cloudy, cool mornings it was beautiful. The beach is AWESOME - white sand and crystal clear blue water. On days the waves are not too high you can take a crust of bread from the buffet and break it up and feed the fish - very cool!!!
We never tried the a la cartes as the Buffet always had something good and you're not tied to a specific time to eat. Beer garden had finger food (burritos, chicken or fish chunks deep fried on a stick, etc) good if you wanted a light snack - and a cold beer. The beach snack shack has pizza, burgers and fries - good for a break from the lunch buffet.
Bartenders were friendly and would mix up anything we asked for. The Pool bar has fresh mint growing in a small plot to the side - nice for fresh mojitos!
The bed was firm and (if you like big fluffy pillows) you might want to bring your own pillow. Maid did a top-notch job including towels folded into swans every day. The 2 room towels were small but changed every day. We took our own beach towels as we had read that beach towels were hard to get at the resort.
We would go back in a heartbeat.
I unfortunately have agree with the last poster - some of the French Canadians need a refresher course in courtesy, we too have come to expect that after 4 trips south.
