“Just Go, you will enjoy it”

Recommended by a friend, who said: Just go you will love it, and we sure did. To those of you who can't walk too far, like myself.... this is the place for you. There are about 280 rooms. Perfect place where everything is within walking distance to the beach, the buffet and the pool. The beach is beautiful and they are always cleaning it,and lots of palapas for shade. There is also a beach bar, washrooms and a barbeque on the beach.at lunch. spotless pool, beautifully manicured grounds, and a nice buffet with lots of variety to choose, indoors with airconditioning. The rooms are spacious, average, spotless, and no matter where your room is, it is close to everything. We will go back for sure. We went for 14 days, and for what we paid we sure got our moneys worth. Just go with little expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised. Have a wonderful holiday.....We did.

Room Tip: We were in room 2111, close to the beach and I requested a ground floor room due to mobility issues...

This is our 4th time in Cuba.Having been to Holquin,Santa Lucia and Covarubias before. This is the place we found food to be okay.Beach was superb.Staff mostly friendly . Manager was very attentive. Our main concern was the mattress in the bedroom which was as hard as a rock and the long pillow like a body pillow. We had entertainment of any class only for 2 days , other days just beach party or having musical chair like stuff with the audience. We got a good deal price wise , so we have no complaints.

If you are going to pay heavy, look somewhere else like Panama, Montego Bay or Dominican

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms are quieter though you may have to climb the steps. One tip to is thatyou could avo...

We arrived on October 27th (just after hurricane Sandy had passed over Cuba)

Airport to the hotel takes about 10 minutes.

check in:
Very quick and easy took 5 minutes and we were up settled in our room 2238 (a small ocean view) which was nice and it was also away from the main area which was also nice because it was much quieter. Room was clean. Please remember at this resort they do not fill the frige. You get 1 bottle of water and thats it.

Room:
Clean, simple nothing too fancy. We had a little oceanview which was nice, we were away from the main area so it was much quieter. On our last nigth there we did have a little visitor (lizard) which disapeared when it saw us so us being 2 girls of couse did NOT want to sleep with a lizard in our room so we switched rooms.

Beach: Unfortunetely due to hurricane Sandy, the beach was almost non existant. The tide was very high in the morning and there was big waves, it did go down in the afternoon. The waves just made it fun, but we did not get to see our clear blue ocean we were hoping for. other then that the beach was well kept and there was plenty of shading area.

Pool:
We did not spend anytime there but for a few days there was a part of it being renovated. Other then that the pool seemed to be clean and was nice.

Snack Bar: pizza, hot dogs, fries and pizza. it was ok. fries were undercooked most of the time

Buffet: Was pretty good, we always found something to eat, for th emost part the food was warm.

A la carte: not the greatest (especialy for those who don't eat seafood)

Drinks: We had so much trouble getting a simple strawberry daiquiri it seemed like they had no idea how to make them. They would just put lemonade slush with grenedine and most of the time it was juice. Drinks were not the greatest at all.

Service: Depending where you were, it was okay. At the pool bar it wasn't the greatest, but the guys who did the food were good. The lobby bar was a hit or miss, sometimes they would come, sometimes they didnt. Buffet at dinner was really good service for the most part.

Grounds: it was nice, it is a small resort so it takes about 5 minutes to get to everywhere not even.

LADY AT THE Customer Service: AWSOME! we had a lizard in our room and of course being 2 girls we didn't want to sleep with it. It was 10pm at night on our last night. We went to go see the lady at the customer service and she right away switched us rooms no questions asked. 10 minutes later we were in our new room.

This being said, we had a great time either way for the 5 days we were there! Nothing fancy for a resort but it had what we needed.

I travelled to Sol Cayo Coco October 6-13 with my mom, sister and future husband (got engaged while on our trip).
As a first time traveller to Cuba I didn’t have anything to compare it to, but I can honestly say I had an amazing time! Right from the beginning the staff were amazing, and did everything they could to help. They all spoke very good English and it wasn’t a problem to ask for things or to communicate with one another.
Our rooms were ready as soon as we arrived. Overall they are a little outdated but were very clean and the maids came every day to tidy up. On our last day they left a note saying have a good trip home and hopefully we’ll come back and that it was a pleasure to clean up for us (I thought this was very sweet).
The food overall was very good and there was always something there to eat. I never left a meal hungry.
The pools were clean and we always saw someone going around cleaning up (picking up plastic cups and stuff).
The beach was AMAZING!! …
Nightly entertainment was very good and it was something different every night.
I loved the La Bodeguita bar that was located next to the Lobby and the guy who was there nightly was so entertaining and kept the guest coming back for drinks.
I will definitely be coming back in the future!
My number one reason why I would travel back to Sol is the staff! They all did an amazing job to make sure we were all having a good trip and I thought they were so friendly.

Stayed at Sol Cayo Coco from Oct 7th to Oct 14, travelled with a group of 5 families, around 23 people.
Everything is nice over there, specially the ocean and white sand beach, very friendly staff from the gardener to the manager, they are working hard for customers to be happy, but of course they can't please everyone, so people who write bad reviews should try other places where will find what they really want. For the quality/price the resort is very good.
Rooms are clean, and almost all of them got kind of ocean view, so you don't really have to upgrade, food & service at buffet is good as well.
If you have to deal with some issues related by rooms, or anything else the best place to go is customer service, special thank to Orisvel Vega Hernandez (Quality Control Manager) and her staff. They will help you to have a nice stay over there.
Thank you very much to every employee of the resort for such a beautiful vacation.
We definitely recommend this resort to everybody.

The Sol Cayo Coco is by no means what you might expect in other carribean holidays, it hasn't got any of the multitude of things to do you might expect in Cancun or the large resort areas but what it does have is the isolation to appreciate the beauty of these islands. The resort itself is small but it makes up for this in the sheer will of the staff to ensure that every guest enjoys themselves! The food is excellent if a bit strange to my Irish taste but thoroughly enjoyable. The staff are helpful, friendly and always well presented and their attention to detail is what helps raise this hotel to its high standing. Try every activity on offer, go to Santa Clara, meet the local people, don't buy the black market cigars, do buy the beautiful handcrafts and the top quality cigars available in the official shops. Tip and the staff will treat you like a king. Take advantage of the amenities that are available and definitely go for a walk around the island. My Fiancee and I loved Cuba and that was in no small feat due to the staff at the Sol Cayo Coco and their efforts to make sure we had the best possible time.

PS.
Don't go fishing on a full belly!!!!

The night activities like the beach partys or discos were amazing and i made alot of memories. The band that played in the lobby were very good and entertaining and it was perfect, 2 weeks were too short and i wish i was there now. cuba was perfect!
