White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is a scenic strip of beach front that houses a number of visit-worthy establishments. The Soggy Dollar is a big draw because of the notorious Painkiller that was invented here - a rum punch containing pineapple and orange juice, coconut creme and nutmeg. This is a favourite drink of ours at home in snowy Canada, so we were excited to taste the original recipe and - fair enough - it was indeed the best of the Painkillers we've had. It's a crowded spot most any day during the week, judging from the other reviews - we were there on a Saturday and it was pretty packed mid-afternoon. Grab a drink and try your hand at the Ring Game, or go for a stroll down the beach or find yourself a lounge chair. Then head behind the bar, find the road, turn right and take it over two steep hills to Corsairs and Foxy's on the next bay. It was an afternoon to remember!

First off, the Soggy Dollar apparently invented the Painkiller, and I sure believe them because they were the best we had in the BVIs. We swam to the bar from our boat right after lunch, and the bar was certainly crowded, but not in a bad way. The beach was packed with families, couples - a whole mix of people just having a good time. There were kids playing games and people hanging around to eat/drink/relax in the sun. It was very busy but we were still able to snag a table and chairs for our large group. Bartenders were very friendly and we loved the bustling, party-fun atmosphere which is a change from many places in the BVIs that tend to be on the quiet side. After walking next door to Gertrudes, we came back to Soggys for some snacks which were pretty good too. Definitely worth a visit - bring your party pants!

We had to try out the infamous Soggy Dollar and I have to say, the bartender was great and beach didn't disappoint... But a short walk down the beach gets you your own chaise lounge, the shade of palm trees, not as many boats blocking your view and killer drinks. One Love bar was much more our taste! Highly recommend you grab a Pain Killer @ Soggy Dollar, but then explore

We went mid afternoon on a thursday and the were 100's of loud drunken people there, on the beach outside and in the sea.

This was not what we were expecting in the BVI. We realised a little later that they were ferried in on all sorts of vessels and left late afternoon.

If you are after a Benidorm experience in the BVI then this is for you, but it was crowded, drunken, raucous and loud.

Not sure if it is like this everyday so chose your days wisely!!

Have been coming to Jost since 1995 and taking the taxi over the hill. We have continually rated Soggy as one of the best bars in the Caribbean. NO MORE. Too many day trippers, cruise boats anchored off shore. 20 minutes to get to the bar, not worth it. Better off going down the beach to Seddy's, Gertudes or one of the other. Times have changed and so has the Soggy Dollar Bar.
