"First one up and about turns on the coffee." Mornings at Sancastle on White Bay are so incredibly serene. Twenty steps to the beach...grab your chair for the day...get some coffee and soak it all in. Gently lapping waves...perfect white sand beach...a few overnight sailboats bobbing in the bay...St John in the distance. Breakfast with the other 10 guests (who quickly become friends) then back to the beach or off on a JVD adventure.
Daytrippers = People Watching. Some say the the arrival of 30 - 40 day sail boats from 12:00 to 4:00 detract but we found the activity refreshing. Some pretty good people watching was had and if it became a chore, we simply walked down the beach to a quieter place. At 4:00 they all leave and serenity returns.
Dinner & Evenings at Sandcastle. White bay is mostly deserted at night save a few overnighters moored in White Bay and some hillside villa folks. Chef Oliver makes the Sandcastle the prime destination for fine eats with a menu that may seem out of place for the venue but is absolutely delicious.
Wake up the next morning and do it all again...Ahh!More
