“diving off Jost”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

We have frequented the BVI's for many years and love Jost Van Dyke. This trip we booked a two tank dive with Scuba Jost Van Dyke and were very pleased with our day, The service was terrific from being picked up at the dock in Soper's Hole and dropped off again at the end of the day, to having a boat and a dive master to ourselves for a dive at 9 Finger Reef and another at White Bay, David even made sure the rain had stopped by the time we ascended!
David was very patient, professional and a pleasure to dive with, the rest of the crew were very kind and helpful and there was a wonderful selection of souvenirs in the shop to take home.
We will definitely return and recommend Scuba Jost Van Dyke.

“We had a nice day.”
Reviewed February 28, 2014

Booked with JVD Scuba as an excursion for a day trip in Tortola. There were several of us and there was no problem that I'm aware of about taking different cc for payment. The trip was described enthusiastically as visits to top snorkel sites with lunch at Willy T's, bottled water, a fruit snack and a Painkiller. After a brief safety meeting, we went off to Norman Island and the Caves on The Nautilus. It took a while for those needing equipment to get situated. The next stop was Willy T's which was good enough. The locals made it clear they weren't exactly thrilled about a boatload of tourists harshing their mellow, but too bad. Our captain went around to each table asking how everything was and gladly accepted all offers to share. ;-) Next stop was the nearby Pirate's Bight. Some of us snorkeled, some walked over to the bar. The snorkeling here was terrific, better than the Caves which were pretty good. After some delay from a straggling passenger, we only had a short time to snorkel The Indians but that was okay with me because by the time we got there, it was much rougher in the water and I opted to stay on the boat rather than risk getting smacked into the rocks. Those that went in said it was fabulous - even better than the Bight. The ride home was unremarkable which is a good thing. Water was available, but from a large dispenser. Never saw any fruit or Painkillers. Overall, we had a very pleasant day with no issues and saw some fabulous underwater tableaus and pretty much every fish the Caribbean waters support.

“I saw my first shark”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

We rented a private boat for the day hoping Captain Martin would be driving us all over the BVIs. Unfortunately, the trade winds were blowing too hard for small craft to go much of anywhere. So after giving Capt Marlin our list, and his shaking his head no, we decided to just let him set the course for the day. We were not disappointed. He took to a completely unspoiled, pristine reef. It was the best snorkeling I have experienced since the Galapagos. We also saw the bubbling pool and had a nice nature walk at Diamond bay. Capt Marlin is knowledgeable about the islands and explained much of the areas history, at least when we could hear him above the waves pounding against the boat. One of the best $500 I've spent in a long time.
One of his mates told me that Martin's real name is Captain Charlie but I suspect that someone was trying to steal some credit.
