“Always Welcoming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Every trip to the BVI's has to include a stop at Harris's in Little Harbor. When you get hitched to your mooring ball or set your anchor, two boats come to greet you, one from Sydneys and one from Harris's. We have always dine dinner at Harris's. Cynthia and her friends make the place come alive. The lobsters are superb and perfectly done, service is friendly and "island paced" so come and relax. And if the staff is busy just ask Cynthia if you can mix yourself a drink at the bar. Remember you are in the islands and enjoy.

“Amazing Evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

We spent our last night of a family sailing trip here with Cynthia. Not only was Cynthia completely delightful, dinner was out of this world good. It is a small open air restaurant with a partially sand floor and the water lapping softly near the edge of the tables. The pina coladas were to die for. The fish was amongst the best I have had anywhere in the world (and I travel a lot and stay in top tier hotels). This is a not to be missed experience if you are on wonderful Jost Van Dyke. If you do moor in Little Harbor - try the snorkeling out on the points and be prepared to see some tarpon if you swim around the points. (Also, given the size of Cynthia's restaurant - I am sure she is always happy to get a heads up when a large group is planning on dinner but if you don't have time - she is a resourceful woman and I am sure you would still be pleased.)

“Harris House for Lobsters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Stopped in Little Harbor as opposed to Great Harbor, for a more secluded family-friendly scene. The cove was very protected a calm. We made reservations ahead of time even though we were the only guests. It wasn't too buggy and the live lobster display is great. The staff is very personable. Food is great and comparatively priced. I would definitely recommend.

“Big lobster, bigger personality!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

If you spend any time in the BVI (and I hope you get a chance to) a trip to Harris' should be on your list....but maybe not in the first day or two while your brain is still struggling to accept the disparity between the drop dead beauty of the place and the rather disorganized way things work around here.
But when you are ready for it, a meal with Cynthia is a must....best lobster I have had (most places overcook it til it's tough and stringy) delivered in a relaxing yet chaotic atmosphere that is authentic and fun. On the day we were there for lunch which was late in the season, Cynthia prevailed upon a regular to come off his boat and act as bartender while she could be heard fighting with someone in the kitchen and generally muttering about problems...the menu was limited and the drafted bartender had to go back to his boat to find me a Diet Coke...which he was happy to do.
After lunch, Cynthia came and sat with us, regaling us with stories of how we needed to come back and see her in her evening glory...and about her late father Harris and the history of the place...she is a diminutive dynamo who has no pretensions of creating a resort experience....the place is grubby (not to be confused with dirty) but run with pride and grit....and the food is tasty.
It's the BVI afterall, not a Disney resort, so when you are ready for that, do yourself a favor and go see Cynthia!!!

“Not 'all you can eat,' but all you should eat.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

I read some reviews saying Monday was all-you-can-eat lobster night, so planned a stop in Little Harbour on Monday night. When the owner came to collect our mooring fee, she confirmed that it was all-you-can-eat night. Well, it turned out that meant she would provide two-and-a-half pounds of lobster, and that was all you MAY eat. The lobster was fresh, but not prepared as well as in some other places. The owner was having a big fight with her cook, so maybe that had something to do with it. The menu boasted their Painkiller was the best you've ever had, or it was free. Well, I didn't say anything, but it was probably the worst I've had (maybe they used coconut milk instead of coconut cream). So, it was a pleasant meal, but not worth making special plans for, especially at those prices (the special, i.e. two-and-a-half pounds of lobster, was $57, a large was $50, medium $45, and small $40).
