Accomodations are like in Switzerland. Very clean with all of amenities you would expect in this price range. Swiss, now Canadian, owners. The dinners are the best we have found on the Western side of the island. Did not go East so cannot comment there. Setting is stunning. The only thing that was not just right was the accomodation's temperature which three out of four of us felt was too wam. Still be sure to stay here if you can.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at Neddies Harbour Inn with fellow travelers. Your review is not only beneficial to other travelers it is also an important motivatior for our great staff on all levels. As for the temperature: Although we use very sophisticated technology to control the climate at Neddies Harbour Inn, the frequent and quick changes of our weather and climate are very challenging. We often have to relay on our guests voicing their concerns. I hope we'll getting it right on your next visit.

We booked a night at Neddie's Harbour Inn based on the reviews of TripAdvisor, we were definitely happy with our choice. We were greeted at the entrance by one of the owners, and pride of ownership definitely showed in the care and warmness that she demonstrated. We did not have dinner reservations and she inquired and got us a table for without a doubt was the best meal we had on our 2 1/2 week trip to the Maritime.

The room reminded us of trips to Europe with quality features but with clean lines and hardwood floors. Annette, the manager gave us a tour and gave us the background on the building and staff. Amazing how simplistic but restful the entire inn conveys as you are there. Our only regret, we did not include more time on our trip to spend several days here.

Neddie's Harbour Inn and Restaurant sold us on coming back to Newfoundland in the near future.

Room Tip: Make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

We came across Neddies Harbour Inn online when looking for somewhere to stay in Gros Morne National Park - and we are glad we did, it provided a home from home for us to rest and relax in the wonderful surroundings of Boone Bay.
We were lucky in having booked Room 108 - Shag Cove (I guess shag doesn't have the same meaning it does in the UK in Canada!!) as it gave us a superb view across the bay. What could be better than waking to the lapping of the sea and a view of the cliffs opposite.
The Inn's rooms are large and spacious with a modern layout and a fresh vibrant feel. Like someone has taken care to lay them out in the most person friendly manner.
We eat there for two nights and loved the views from the dining room and the quality and originality of the food. I would say that the chef is trained in the classic French style but is willing to take a risk with inventive flavours and local produce unknown to the French.
The person who greeted us and the cleaning staff were also welcoming and friendly, part of the family atmosphere of the place.

Room Tip: Room 108 - Shag Cove has brilliant views and easy access to the garden overlooking the sea

Thank you very much for your detailed review. I will gladly forward your compliments to our great staff. Shag is the Newfoundland expression for the Cormorant and therefore Shag Cliff is the cliff where the Cormorants would sit to dry their wings.

We rented Monty's Shorescape, one of three cottages available through Neddies Harbour Inn and it was spectacluar. The cottage is located on a bluff in Gros Morne National Park and has one of the most spectacular views I have seen in Canada. Cliffs, mountains, ocean and the Tablelands all in one sweeping glance. The cottage is modern with three bedrooms, hardwood floors, a full kitchen, deck, bbq, washer and dryer and a beautiful sitting room with huge windows that take in the entire view. It allowed our family of 4 to spread out and to get some much needed laundry done as we were there halfway through a 2 week vacation.
We ate dinner at Sugarhill Inn and at Neddies Harbour Inn. We enjoyed Neddies more, the service was great and the food as well. The art on the walls at Neddies is beautiful, depicting Newfoundland splendour. Check-in was welcoming and swift.
Our last night at Monty's, we had a bonfire and toasted marshmallows with the beautiful mountains of Gros Morne as the backdrop.
Unforgettable!

My husband and I stayed here for six nights in July 2011. The hotel is modern and clean, and the sunroom is a great bonus, given its view of the harbour and great selection of books. The in-room DVD player is a nice touch, as are the hot tub and sauna. The food is delicious, including the breakfast buffet (the jams and coffee are amazing). Employees are caring and very professional. The location is great for exploring the central and north parts of Gros Morne National Park.

Room Tip: room on the top floor away from the entrance
