“love his mussels”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

You will dream about the mussels after you taste them. A huge serving of mussels cloaked in a creamy pesto sauce layered with a silky balsamic reduction. I had to order an extra piece of their sturdy bread so I didn`t waste a drop of sauce, and I don`t even eat bread normally. We had the mussels, the lobster stuffed mushrooms and the spinach salad, all appetizers, shared by two for lunch. The mushrooms were rich and subtle. The salad was a fresh and clean combination of spinach, mushrooms, strawberries,, garnished with blue cheese.and walnuts, lightly drizzled with a creamy dressing and split into two tidy portions for us in the kitchen. We were utterly amazed and satisfied for around $30. My only complaint was the slightly brackish water, but a crisp white wine would have been perfect., had we not been hiking after.

It was the best meal of our trip. There would be line-ups around the block if this restaurant opened in Vancouver..

“Disappointed after reading other reviews”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

This is rated #1 in Norris Point and we couldn't figure out why. The mussel app. was OUTSTANDING as others have rated. I ordered the cod and it came without any sauce and was dry [disappointing]. My wife ordered the chicken which was "OK" but the rice was tasteless. The asparagus was a combination of fresh pieces and some overcooked pieces [not fine dining!]. The rice was under cooked and tasteless. We had a reservation there for 2 nights and cancelled the second night as the first was so disappointing. Our check with a bottle of wine was $113+ [2 persons] was was much too much for what we got. Hope we have better luck tomorrow night with dinner!

If you must go there, get the mussels and maybe a salad, but skip the dinner.

“Great Dinner”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

We drove down from Cow Head with friends to have dinner. It is worth the 40 minute scinic drive. The main menu had only four items and the steak had run out.We had three orders of Mussels which are great.
Two people had the turbot au gratin which was a twist on the standard Newfoundland Au gratin recipe and both enjoyed the fish offering.
I had the Caribbean jerk chicken it was a small breast of chicken and when Jason says hot take the warning, I enjoy hot and spicy food and this was smoking hot!!! and so very good.
My wife had the pasta chicken which she thoroughly enjoyed.
The offering are slightly to the smaller side but everything is excellent, service from lynn was excellent.
Two beers,3 orders muscles, plus a pilaf appetizer, 4 entrees and two take home to die for brownies $140.00 so a good deal for great food with great service. We hope to visit again this summer if we can sneak away for a dinner.

“MMMMMMM MUSSELS”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

Stopped in for supper on Thursday evening and had the best mussels I have ever had in my life! We're still trying to figure out Justins' 'secret ingredient'. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is spectacular and we will definitely be back... Moving from Ontario to Rocky Harbour in a few weeks and look forward to this being our 'night out' destination.
Keep up the great work,,, I'm so happy that we'll be in your neighbourhood.

Great spot to eat when visiting Rocky Harbour NL on the occasion of the Trails, Tales and Tunes Festival. Much appreciated the table visit by the owner/operator /chef. Great presentation of Caesar Salad!
