“Gourmet at Gros Morne”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Despite the number of visitors to Gros Morne national park there is little to choose from in the way of appealing places to dine but Justin Thyme is one such. Indeed, any trip to Gros Morne would be incomplete without visiting Norris Point and trying their signature scallops or, for that matter, a trawl through the rest of their rotating blackboard menu. The tool-shed décor works well enough in this quirky outport community and the service is personable and efficient. In fact, if it’s not a busy time, you are likely to be treated to a chat with the chef. The wine selection is abbreviated although interesting and adequate to the task. It’s just one of those restaurants that’s easy to fall in like with – as we did.

“Make sure this restaurant is in your trip. Make time for Justin Thyme Bean Bistro.”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

The mussels are a must. My duck main was delicious as well. The recommended French wine is now on my list of favorite red wines. Justin and his wife are so welcoming and service is great.
Justin made time to chat with us.
Make "thyme" to go!

“Hidden gem!!!”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We were Recommended this restaurant by a friend and I'm so glad we went! The food was delicious and fresh and creative. The scallops wrapped in bacon and the seafood chowder were out of this world. The duck was also unreal! The amazing chef Justin comes up with a new menu everyday for dinner, all freshly made that day! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Justin, the chef even came over to our table to introduce himself and sat and talked with us for a few minutes, such a nice touch. It was awesome to find a trendy and fun restaurant in a place like Gros Morne where there are only so many places to go out for nice dinners. Definitely worth the trip and can't wait to go back to see what's on the menu next time!

Thanks again justin for another great meal, this was our second time.it goes to show that someone with great ideas can succed in the resturant bussiness. If you want frozen french fries and deep fried everything like most resturants in Rocky harbour dont come here. The food is fresh and appealing see you in Cow Head in a few weeks we cant wait.

“Found it just in Time”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

A great place for diner...chatting with the owner..Justin...revealed he only uses fresh (not previously frozen) foods...so the menu is constantly changing...ie he could not get fresh cod..so no cod on the menu tonight...I heard about the restaurant from other travellers...word of mouth, seems to work.

His muscles (moules) in a cream, pesto, balsamic sauce were delicious..steaks and other mains looked generous and well presented
