I usually go to Norris Point once a year to go kayaking with Gros Morne Adventures. The professionalism of this group of people are unparalleled in Newfoundland. If you are a beginner, they explain the kayaking procedures and instruct everyone on do's and don'ts of kayaking. If you want to kayak and you are a beginner, as was recommended to me, go to the 10 AM trip (out on the bay and ocean for 2 hours) - it's not as windy then. This year I had a spectacular guide, Ben, who definitely knew what he was doing, and was extremely friendly, informative, and professional all at the same time. There was absolutely no wind on the morning I went out, and I saw two bald eagles, star fish, and a mink. The owners, Bob and Sue, even remembered me from each year that I have been there, and you know, that means something. If you ever come to Newfoundland, or live in Newfoundland and want to try something different, go to Norris Point and look up Bob and/or Sue - I am sure you won't be sorry.

We recently spent some time in Norris Point and on several mornings began the day by wandering to the "waterfront" to watch the water, study the mountains and plan our day. These mornings were enhanced with a coffee and a freshly baked (still warm) muffin while sitting on the deck at The Kayak Cafe. Awesome!
We also ordered several sandwiches for picnic lunches which were packaged up for us to take along on our adventures. The hummus and chicken salad with apple were delicious.

This company is fantastic. Not only did they take us on a very enjoyable and informative kayak tour of the bay, but they were also very friendly and helpful with pointing out other things we could do within the area. Highly recommend the tour guides, the owner Sue and also the little cafe for a bite to eat after it. The tuna and apple sandwich was delicious!

We had the priviledge of hiking with Sue for five days. She was knowledgeable, professional and flexible. She accessed our skill level and then adpated the hikes to our ever changing group needs. We also kayaked with her on Bonne Bay and we felt very taken care of. The Kayak cafe provided great lunches and snacks for our hikes. She was always well prepared, gave us clear instrucions on the gear & water needed for the hike and tended to our blisters, sore feet and need for cold beer at the end of the day.

We had an excellent time. Kat and Sue our tour guides were wonderful. just the right amount of hiking combined with excellent dinners in the local restaurants. Lots of time to stop and take pictures. I would highly recommend the week long adventure.
