“Nice little hike”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

There is to see interesting geology on this trail. Exciting. This is an easy short hike, nice but not special except the geology.

“Enjoy beautiful scenery”

This area is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We love to hike in this area. There is so much to see there.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

Spending time at the tablelands is like spending time on another planet. It's absolutely incredible! Be sure to read all the information boards. The history is absolutely fascinating. You can take a leisurely walk along the base of the mountain or you can head for the top. The hike to the top is hard because there is nothing but orange rock to help you judge distance. It really feels like you are hiking forever and getting nowhere and then all of a sudden you are at the top! Sliding on the snow was a great reward once you reached the summit. On the hike down the mountain we stopped at a waterfall for a quick dip and a rinse after a long sweaty day of hiking. Truly an awe inspiring experience.

“Breathtaking!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

This was a totally surreal environment. It felt like desert on one side of us and forest on the other. This geological marvel amazes with the contrast and size of the mountain. One of the few places where the earth's mantle has emerged from the crust to form this giant rust coloured feature is incredible. At the end of the trail where the cirque met the base of the mountain was the most fabulous waterfall. Go early in the day so that you don't end up in the blazing sunshine (nothing can grow in the tablelands except some small plants). Pick up a GPS guide from the Parks Canada interpretive centre before you start. It will point out things that you would otherwise miss. Very cool.

“The definition of beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

You may be tempted to go see the Western Brook Pond and overlook the Tablelands if you are short on time but I strongly suggest you make time to see both. As breathtaking as the fjord is on the pond, The Tablelands are even more beautiful. It is hard to describe how majestic these mountains are. The last time I was such in awe in front of something was in Lake Louise near Banff. One of the things you have to see before you die, add it to your list!!
