There are many debates about which place has the best Fish and Chips in St. John's. Most people will agree that the places in the city proper are very parking challenged. Views are at a minimum as well. So this is one of the attractions of by the Beach. There is ample FREE parking and the view of the bay is as close as you can get without getting wet. From the dining room you can watch the whales frolic in the bay and the boats go to and fro when the weather is nice. When the weather is not nice, you can watch the power of the ocean as the waves move the beach rocks around... So enough about the place. It is the food that you need to come here. The fish has a light batter and the chips perfectly done. And unlike most French fries that one encounters "on the mainland", the chips are made fresh from "real" potatoes... No frozen reprocessed fare here....it is the real deal. They also have other choices on the menu, but I would suggest that you go for the fish and chips first. You'll enjoy a sumptuous meal and will not leave hungry as the portion sizes are ample. Oh, one last thing... Bring your camera. The scenery around St. Philips is most memorable.
