What a fun evening out! The hall was jam-packed the night we were there, so it is best to order your tickets beforehand. You will not be better entertained for $10 per person. This group of ladies is quite a collection of personalities and this is demonstrated throughout the 2-hour show. The music included a selection of familiar, traditional Newfoundland songs as well as many compositions written by Ada, one of the group members. Beautiful music - and you can buy their CD(s) at intermission. You could purchase toutons (picture a plain, large fritter) and tea at intermission and we enjoyed ours smothered with partridgeberry preserve. I bought the CD as a keepsake, and it will remind me that I have to go back there!

We so enjoyed seeing the Split Peas while in Twillingate. Newfoundlers are passionate about their island and nowhere else have we ever been where there are so many songs to celebrate their love of it. It was a very energetic audience participation, toe tapping, hand clapping affair. At intermission we had the chance to try some Touton, a popular fried bread dough/pancake served with molasses and partridgeberry jam. Fortunately they had some CD's for sale and we were able to buy their 20th anniversary one and listen to them in the car for the rest of our Newfoundland road trip.
The price of admission was only $10, hugely underpriced and very affordable.
Truly, don't miss them!

These girls put on a great show - packed audience and they served tea and toutons at intermission - a Newfoundland treat. The music was terrific and the group really got the audience very involved and an evening of lots of fun
