Description: This is a small restaurant (about 30 seats) run by the same people who run the nearby health food shop. It's nest to the river in this west Wales market town. All food is vegetarian, cooked on the premises, and it is all delicious. There's a wide range of dishes, hot an cold, wonderful salads and great choice of deserts. They also do tea/coffee with home-made cakes. Prices reasonable - cost two of us £14 for lasagne with salad and latte.

“A must for vegetarians”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We are not vegetarians and so we were not expecting much when we first visited this lovely quaint café situated by the bridge over the river Teifi. However the meals served more than met our expectations and we now always call in for a light lunch when we are down from Yorkshire. The range of food is exceptional for a small establishment and the quality is excellent for the price charged. It has almost but not quite converted us to a vegetarian diet. The owners are vey friendly and when the weather is kind it is well worth a coffee outside at the tables overlooking the river.

“Wonderful food.Excellent service.”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We saw the sign advertising the cafe, near the bridge and the wording invited us to investigate further. I am so glad we did! The welcoming was warm and friendly, we seated ourselves near a quaint window overlooking the river, initially we had wanted a breakfast , as it was nearing 11.35 we were informed that they were now not serving breakfast, but had a tasty and comprehensive lunch menu to offer. Whilst we perused the specials board , a lovely smiley chef popped out of the cooking area and informed us that, if we wanted a breakfast, we could have a breakfast ! How lovely is that?!! . Three of us chose the scrambled egg and garlic mushrooms on toast-utterly divine! My youngest daughter wanted beans on toast! -and beans on toast is what was delivered . nothing seemed too much trouble, fresh coffee was delectable and the children had a good choice of fresh juices. on offer was a good choice of vegan/ vegetarian options, cakes and soups of the day- a good choice for any appetites.A choice of art work adorned the walls-some on offer for sale, and a choice of hand made cards to buy were quirky and original. The prices were very reasonable and appropriate for the setting. I would definitely recommend a visit here. Thank you and may you continue for many years so we may visit again !

“Just fortunate”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

To stumble upon the Riverside Cafe in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Too mean to pay car parking fees and desperate for a coffee, we parked by the riverside and there was the Cafe. We had a large coffee each, I chose lasagna and salad WOW and my husband chose carrot cake. What a delicious feast at such a reasonable price, served by a young lady with a constant smile who obviously enjoys her job and wishing to please their customers. A really quirky, charming little place. Fantastic for vegetarians and vegans as well as us ordinary folk. Thoroughly recommend this Cafe -we will return. Oh, and lastly, they have a spacious car park at no cost to the customer!!

“Excellent food, excellent service”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

This little place is in a fab location, whatever the weather. Cozy and quaint, the freshly cooked vegetarian food is to die for. I even forget that I am not eating meat! Nothing is too much trouble for these guys, the service is just wonderful. Food is presented in a lovely homely style, with salads to die for. Freshly made cakes ( a very good variety!) tempt even the most hardened dieter. Ingredients are as locally sourced as possible, and those with allergies/intolerances can eat safely, and if you are in any doubt, the friendly helpful staff ( who make and prepare it) can list ingredients for you. Local art is displayed and affordable, enhancing the fab surroundings.
My favourite treat!
Superb value for money.

“Delicious food, unbeatable value!”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

In a great location beside the bridge over the River Teifi, where you can sit outside or else inside in a lovely old whitewashed stone building, this has to be the best cafe in West Wales for lunch or afternoon tea!
All the food is fresh, vegetarian, mostly organic with some vegan and gluten-free offerings, and include a tempting array of colourful salads, hearty home-made soups and irresistible cakes which can do serious damage to your waistline. :-) Try the squidgy chocolate one, the dark, moist coffee-and-walnut, or the luscious lemon drizzle. Excellent service and the prices are incredibly reasonable, too . . . and if you're like me, you'll take away a second slice of cake for later!
