Nice cosy wee hotel. We stopped in for a quick snack on the way back to the ferry, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a hearty plate of soup and had a lovely chat with the barman who told us loads about the island and his relationship with it.

I returned for a weekend break with the whole family. [5 of us in two rooms] The deal for DBB was fantastic.
We had different rooms this time and the views were spectacular. [Rooms 4 and 7]
As usual the rooms were clean and exactly what you would expect for a small island hotel.
What was different this time was the new menu and the food. The food was actually very good before but this time it had moved up several notches with starters such as scallops or a half pint of shrimps. The main courses included some old favourites such as fish and chips which were great but also some new dishes which were a bit more imaginative.
Breakfast as usual was great with more than a normal person could possibly eat!
The staff were friendly and helpful and our waitress for the weekend, Cara, was both witty and charming.
We will be back!

Room Tip: We liked rooms 4 and 7 but were warned about noise from the bar below but this did not materialise.

This was out first trip to Gigha, but certainly will not be our last!,
The hotel is run by the community, it,s a lovely building. The bar, restaurant, reception and function area are lovely, but our bedroom was a little tired, Having said that it was very warm and clean.
We visited for two nights, and had dinner, bed and breakfast for the totally bargain price of £20 each!!!! An unbelievable bargain!, I understand that there is another deal on in April.
We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and simply didn't eat in between,
I must mention the excellent staff, Without exception everyone was very friendly, and helpful. so much so that one staff member asked a friend to jump start our car when we needed help miles from anywhere!
I was advised that they hope to invest to update some areas, but I can say at the price we paid ,and, the service provided, it's a fantastic option!

Stayed at the hotel whilst in Gigha on business recently. Overall I was very happy with my stay. My room was spacious and clean, although it was definitely starting to show it's age and could do with a spruce up to be honest (as could most of the hotel). My meal in the evening was very good and breakfast was excellent. All the staff I met were great - really friendly and helpful. Gigha is a beautiful place and I wish all the Community the best of luck with it's future.

My wife and I went for the weekend with our 6 yr old daughter. We had been to the hotel before, a few years ago. It has not changed much although the Dining Room and the Lounge have swapped places, but the new Dining Room is very nice with good views out to sea. As expected everything was clean and as it should be, but quite dated. We took bikes with us and did a bit of cycling, also a bit of crab fishing from the jetty.
It should be noted that the shop is open for business now and that you can also rent bikes there. We dined at the hotel and the food was very good, and on the Sunday evening decided to eat at the boathouse but it was closed that day - the menu at the boathouse seemed quite expensive - £32 for half a lobster.
We had a game of golf on the 9-hole course which was surprisingly good and also in great condition for a wee island course - £10 for a day ticket, so very reasonable.
The staff at the hotel are all very nice and on one evening there was a musical session in the bar which was great - this is seemingly regular every Saturday evening.

Room Tip: They all have great views we believe

had a wonderful recent stay with a group of friends... from the moment you step on the ferry it feels you're escaping the worries of the world, and that sense of relaxation continues with the Gigha Hotel... the staff are all very professional, friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Ardminish Suite which was more than what we were expecting - a separate living room with sea views, bathroom with nice bath tub and skylight, and a nice decent sized bedroom with more sea views, with a large bed, sink, tea and coffee making facililtes etc - felt more like we had our own wee flat! had great craic in the bar with the locals, and some lovely seaview pints of guinness in the grassy outdoor area overlooking the sea... Dined at the hotel in the evenings both nights and the food was of a good standard, with a nice variety on the menu (perhaps only criticism could do with more than one vegetarian option, but that's just me!). A nice selection of food on option for breakfast as well - from full Scottish to kippers, omlettes etc. A very beautiful island, with plenty of breathtaking walks and views to take in... will definitely be back I hope soon.
