A return trip to Gorse Hill hotel. We stayed last August, booking a special deal DB&B at £79 for a Sunday night and this time round £37 B&B (£20 for room so we booked breakfast also). The hotel is near RHS Wisley, as members the reason for our trip. We stayed in the same room as before (Room 47) and although on the small side was good value for money. We had no issues with the room being dirty, the bathroom a good size and the bed comfortable for us. Our only gripe is that there is no bedside table on one side of the bed. Our check in was efficient, the hotel offers free coffee in the lounge, along with sweets, biscuits and muesli bars - something that we feel is very generous. The grounds are lovely, the Connect 4 game was broken, it would have been great fun to play. Breakfast was good, albeit not as good as I remember it last year. The fruit salad isn't that inspiring (mostly tinned) and the toaster seems to take an age. The cooked breakfast was good, sausages tasted lovely and bacon nice and thick. Some of the food had dried a little under the heat lamps, but all perfectly edible. We ate out in the evening at the Hunters Lodge (Vintage Inn pub) which was a short drive away - nothing spectacular but basis food for a reasonable price. Overall another successful stay with De Vere and we would be happy to return again. Maybe this time we'll book a Signature Room - they look very nice. :-)
