“Nice Central Hotel”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Good sized room with tea and coffee making kit. Continental breakfast available but the Herbert Wells pub just opposite selling breakfast for £3. Only complaint only had one pillow each, no milk for our tea and coffee and when you were in bed you kept rolling to the middle.

As a British ex-pat living in France I was looking for good-value,
quality accomodation based in Woking for a recent trip to see my family. I found everything I wanted in this hotel. A friendly welcome, a clean well-equipped room and free internet access.

In every city of the world there are 1 or 2 star hotels close to railways stations. The Woking Hotel is by no means the worse of that genre. It is clean and functional, the WIfi is free, and the people are easy to get on with. There is no parking but there are public car parks (£9 a day).

Moreover there might be an upgrade programme underway, as the public areas have been painted and carpeted recently. The programme, if indeed there is one, hasn't reached the rooms. Mine was tired, and it wasn't helped by the intense smell of smoke. Clearly this hadn't been caused by one erring guest; the corridor on the second floor smelled of smoke, and the ashtray surely isn't a relic from the days when it was legal to smoke in hotels.

Having said all that, it is basic but well priced.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room

Used as a base for business trip to be honest booked in error on firms travel portal I usually use Travelodge City Centre Woking.

This hotel was clean and more in town centre.

Good contintrental breafast bouught to room there is no restaurant but as right in town centre not a problem for dinner choices.

Only gripe was the bathroom, it felt rather tiired and the water pressure in shower was very low.

Apart form that met the need

I've stayed here a number of times and can't quite believe what people think they are getting for £39.99, Were you expecting the Bellagio with its spectacular fountains in Chertsey Road, Woking?

It has a bed, ideal for when you need to sleep
It has a bath and shower, ok not the best but every time you use it you are cleaning it - WIN
Its got a toilet for when you need, well you know...
Its close to all of Woking's finest establishments
Its got toiletries in the bathroom , who cares what the ingredients are, you drinking it ?

When I crash face down I dont care where I am as long as the room has a door (again WIN). The beds are clean, the carpet is hoovered and the TV works.

I've stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, however when Woking calls me I can't quite find somewhere in town where I can pay £500 a night for gold leaf toilet paper and my own personal butler

Too many people ATTACK this hotel, its cheap as chips and I can plug my phone charger in.

It also has WIFI, what more do you want. Its Woking, not Dubai

Room Tip: Get F****** hammered in town first !
