The building itself was lovely, also liked the location. The room we were in was quite large and nicely presented. The receptionist seemed very friendly also. All the other members of staff however were very slow and you could say almost dumb. I was waiting to be served a drink at the bar for approximately 10minutes as there was nobody to be found. I could have probably served myself and nobody would have noticed. When someone finally came i received a disgruntled "sorry i was busy". The pub was empty, so unless paperwork needed stapling together i dont know how busy he could have been. My wife actually told me that she saw him coming out of the pub across the road and enter the building just before he served me. I am almost certain bar staff are not allowed to drink on shift let alone leave the building unattended! The manageress came across as very rude and abrupt to me it seemed as if she hated her job. I caught her belittling one of the kitchen staff which i deemed very inappropriate.
All in all the staff definitely let this place down, id be happy to return if they exchanged the staff.

Room very basic and shabby. No complimentary soaps provided. Bar staff very noisy placing bottles in the bins. Incorrect drink served twice, second time all I received from the bar staff was "you dont want it then", no attempt to replace. Breakfast very slow. Arrived at breakfast and was told " we haven't finished setting up yet"
Very dissapointing. Wont stay again.

We had 8 rooms in the hotel for work and from the point of booking the rooms to our check out the service was excellent. We arrived late but they kindly kept the kitchen open for us and the next morning we were leaving at 7am and so they came in early to do us breakfast. This was really appreciated and also really good food.

The rooms are fine, very quiet and we all commented on what a great comfortable sleep we had there. I would definitely book again if I was in the area.

we stayed at this hotel whilst attending a wedding at nearby Chartwell. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Audrey sorted us with contact lense solution from her own supply as we had forgotten ours , this was of great help . Food is okay . standard pub grub , good selection of beers etc which are well priced. We needed to move room due to a noise issue , this was handled very well by all concerned including the housemaids. The hotel is quite expensive for a 3 star property and seems a bit tired in some areas. Would suggest that the hotel group who operate this property invest in some basic routine maintenance to keep on top of a lot of the small issues, such as missing radiator valves , slow draining sinks etc . The beds are great , very comfy indeed. All in all we had an enjoyable stay .

I stayed at The Kings Arms with my partner, because of its proximity to Chartwell (which we went to visit) and also because I used to live in Westerham. On arrival, the Receptionist was very helpful, and directed us to our room. We had the Anne Bolyn room at the front. This room had, what looked like, original windows/doors at the front that opened up on to the balcony, with double glazing as well (in the room) which was perfect, as Westerham High Street can be rather busy. There were stairs in the room down to the bathroom, which in my opinion was very basic, but sufficient for our needs. The bed, however, was the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in! So much so, that we enquired in the morning as to the supplier of the mattress - I want one of those!

Breakfast was in the conservatory at the back. The service was very good, and the breakfast appeared to be cooked to order. There was also a nice selection of fresh fruit and cereals.

All-in-all, a very comfortable stay - and would stay there again. The only possible downside was the price, which I think was rather expensive for this hotel, but the quality of the bed made up for this!

We stayed at the King's Arms for one night in July, en route to Hastings. The food was very nice and the bar well stocked with quality beers and lagers. Our allocated room was ok, though a little tired possibly, and the view of the wall of the building next door darkened the room somewhat. Had we had chance to choose a room, I believe we would have chosen the 'Anne Boleyn' room, which some friends stayed in the week before, they said that it was very nice with views overlooking the gardens - we will try to get that one next time. Parking although tight was ok at the rear of the premises, staff well mannered and polite, and the breakfast was very good indeed!

Room Tip: It would be worth asking for a room preferably round the back, or looking out over the street.
