Chartwell the home of Sir Winston Churchill is now owned and run by the National Trust. It is set in the beautiful Kent Countryside amid delighful gardens. It really is a Must Visit Place, The House is beautiful and their is a wealth of History inside. However what reall comes across is thta in his lifetime it was very much a Home. The Restaurant in the grounds is lovely and the gift xhop well worth a visit, you can take a picnic and make sure you walk around the grounds. It is a whole day out for Family and Friends alike. I have been several times and just love it.

All the National Trust Staff and Volunteers are fantastic and so full of Knowledge.

Overall it's an ok visit, maybe not worth it if it is going to take you more than half an hour get there.

You got a sense of a family home rather than a stately monument - the human touch. Would recommend it to anyone who would like to get a sense of the big man.

If you have a free day go to this fair, what a lovely experience! We pre booked a Christmas lunch as we were meeting friends there the food was just wonderful. If you are lucky enough to place a reservation try the mulled wine you will not be disappointed. The staff were great and there was no being rushed while eating or when you had finished a thoroughly lovely day.
