“Great to see the old man's place ...”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

You got a sense of a family home rather than a stately monument - the human touch. Would recommend it to anyone who would like to get a sense of the big man.

“christmas fair at chartwell”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

If you have a free day go to this fair, what a lovely experience! We pre booked a Christmas lunch as we were meeting friends there the food was just wonderful. If you are lucky enough to place a reservation try the mulled wine you will not be disappointed. The staff were great and there was no being rushed while eating or when you had finished a thoroughly lovely day.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

We only visited here to get some frost shots of the garden,The house is closed at this time of the year which we knew about already. we have been before in the summer and the gardens are gorgeous, not much to see in December but the weather was good so we got clear pictures of the house. There was a Christmas fair on which was okay but we did have a lovely toad in the hole for lunch with fantastic creamy mash and red cabbage, hats off to the chef, shame the crumble wasn't so good but a good visit anyway. Go if you can but wait until the gardens are in bloom and the house is open.

“A lovely family home.”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Steeped in history ,a welcoming home environment . A rose garden worth a visit when in summer. A lovely walk round the garden, see if you can find Sir Winston Churchill and his beloved Clementine.

“Great Day Out”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

What a great day out in the Kent countryside and a wonderful setting. We were given a time slot for the house so enjoyed the gardens and gallery before we went inside. The gardens were lovely to walk around and the gallery although quite crowded was interesting. The house was set back in the 1920-30's and loved the area where all the gifts were so interesting.Well worth a trip my daughter husband and grandaughters (age 5 and 8) love going here.
