This is a national trust house which has lovely gardens to walk round and great views. You can park and then sit on the grassy hill above the car park to play with your kids and enjoy the views. There is a lovely shop. The restaurant is always packed so recommend a picnic. (National Trust food is also expensive). There's quite a bit of walking so come with the right footwear!

We love chartwell, everything about it is amazing just like the man who lived here, chartwell gives you a true insight to winston churchill and the churchill family. The rooms were packed full of pictures, books and personal mementoes evoking the career and interests of a great leader, painter and family man. The rooms remain as they were in churchills heyday making you feel that much closer to the great man himself, The gardens are beautiful, the studio is packed full of paintings seeing so many piece of his art felt unreal, his swimming pool is amazing i could almost picture the great man himself sitting in the pool whiskey in one hand cigar in the other. The staff at chartwell are very friendly, helpful and informative and clearly enjoy their job. Chartwell is british history at its best a must see for everybody, lets not forget our history and keep the memory of churchill and all the world war heros alive.

We didn't have enough time for this place, far too much to see in one afternoon. We'll be going back again to see the house in more detail. We enjoyed the gardens on this visit, a lovely tea in the restaurant and a wander round the shop. Well worth another visit to get more info on the life of Churchill and see his home and art studio.
