I have been a few times for a meal at the restaurant and the food itself was lovely and waiting staff generally helpful and accommodating. My complaint lies with management and their lack of respect for diners with small children.
On a recent visit (last week in fact) our party had a very well behaved but only 9 months baby with us. We were a party of six celebrating a birthday and spending a reasonable amount of money. As anyone with young children are aware there comes a point where a certain little one may require a nappy change.
When asking a member of staff if any baby changing facilities were available we received a unfortunately no reply but the staff member then did try to suggest where we could within the restaurant (balance baby on toilet seat or go to a function room reception area)
We were very surprised that for a popular restaurant a simple baby changing facility was not available. On returning home my sister wrote an email of complaint in which she has still had no response and when I myself phoned up to cancel a table that was booked for next month due to issue on explaining why we were cancelling was met with a oh well so attitude.
We are therefore out f principle never returning to the grasshopper or ever recommending to other people.
I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 16 years and currently doing a degree in international culinary arts and I can safety say that management at the grasshopper are NOT customer focused.
