Visited Kinara for the first time on Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised at how big it was inside and how beautiful it was. From the outside it doesn't look that big. The service was second to none and the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent!!!!!

We visited Kinara for dinner last Saturday. We hadn't been for a few years but it was as good as we remembered. It is an atmospheric place, in an old cottage, with a small bar area and well-spaced tables (not crammed together). The staff are welcoming and efficient. In the summer there is a splendid doorman in Indian costume, but in January who could blame him for not standing outside?
The menu is a sensible length with plenty of interesting dishes. We had an excellent lamb biryani and a prawn bhuna. The naan was excellent and so was the kulfi. The wine list is good and the price was quite modest - excellent value.
I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Having many Muslim Friends, it is ideal to take them to Kinara where all the meat is Halal so they can order "off menu" rather than having to go to a vegetarian option. PT

The downstairs rooms in this old Grade II listed cottage have been turned into a characterful restaurant. Dark and moody atmosphere, can be quiet or romantic depending on your perspective. Good food including some unusual dishes and flavours, as well as the standards. A Pakistani, rather than the more usual Bangladeshi, influence on the food. The only local Indian I've ever been in which sometimes has waitresses as well as waiters. Apparently William Pitt lived here whilst his house a few miles away in Keston was being repaired.

To sum it all up - excellent and innovative Pakistani and Indian food in an old English cottage setting.
