A well appointed Park on the Mersey Estuary with several well positioned bird hides giving great views over the estuary and salt marsh. A quiet place to stroll round and enjoy a big sky.

I live 5 minutes from Wigg Island and nip down there many time throughout the year, both on foot and by Bike, top tip, take the side road along the side of the Manchester ship canal if you want a decent Bike ride, just follow the track and you will end up at Moore Nature reserve, another top place, on Wigg island you have some really nice walks and the bonus of a very small (lenth) canal which has a lot of wild life in/on it, wildlife is all over this place, rabbits,Stoats, wood Pigeons, Squirrals and lots of other things to spot.
Enjoy the place and please keep it tidy, some people can spoil it but with a little effort it can look great.

A great afternoon out to blow away the cobwebs. We take the kids for walks and cycle rides around the different paths.

There are picnic benches dotted around and lots of things for the kids to explore. They love to look out over the water at the various birds etc.

great for walking the dog, or just walking in general..the nature reserve is great for the kids on their bikes or scooters...just wish dog owners would be more responsible and scoop the poop, thats the only thing that lets the place down !!
