“What more could you want from a local pub?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

This is a very traditional pub with a well presented bar and lounge/dining area. It's comfortable and tidy, with welcoming log fires in the winter. Excellent beer is served, with four real ales normally on tap. Timothy Taylor's Landlord is always available, and you'll have to go a long way to get a better pint. The staff are always friendly, and helpful, and usually willing to let you taste their latest guest ale before you buy. What more could you want from a local pub?

Well the Prospect also serves good food. From snacks to Sunday roasts, you'd be hard pushed not to find something to suit your taste and appetite, and the prices are very reasonable, too.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Everyone on Facebook said to visit here for food but I had never been in here ever. We decided to give it a try and wow what a lovely friendly welcome we received. The staff were very nice and let us taste the cask ales giving lots of advice and knowledge about the beers. The food smelt lovely and as it was homemade burger night we thought we would give it try. They were delicious and we will definitely be back. 10/10 !!!!!

“Homely and always welcoming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

This pub is now our regular for any celebrations, from my Daughters baby shower to birthdays, we all love the homely feel when you walk in and the roaring log fires help the atmosphere.
The food is all homemade and of a great standard, you can't beat the Sunday roast 2 for a tenner. My Grandaughter loves to sit in her high chair and the staff are all so child friendly. you never feel awkward having children in there. There is a good selection of vegetarian meals available too and I can recommend the veggie lasagne.
Plus there are guest beers and ciders available.
