“Fun night out”

I go to the Romford dogs at least twice a year, it usually in a large group of friends and family ages ranging from teens to 70s. I can honest say I have always had a great night. I don't bet a lot just a pound on each race so even when I lose it doesn't hurt. The food is ok not a lot of choice but we don't go for the food its the fun of the racing we go for. The staff have alway been nice and helpful and ready to explain the more complicated bet. Have been to both the Chase and the Pavilion, prefer the Pavilion as you are at ground level. Give it a try you might get a pleasant surprise.

This is an excellent venue both for the racing, especially floodlit, whilst there is also a superb restaurant overlooking the whole of the stadium. Parking is a little difficult but evenings there are no yellow lines etc.The food is very good and there are also small traders vending figure food..

Choice of eating places, seats of varying prices. Can book restaurant service or sit at bar. Reasonable prices. Be early to park though

I come to this venue every now and then , with family and friends. I'm not a regular gambler but when out with a good crowd it makes a great night out and adds a nice bit of variety to the social life. You can also have a good night fairly cheap , betting as little as a pound a race makes it exciting but good value, if I'm flushed ill bet a little more. You can also have the all important alcoholic beverage and buy food that's not bad. I find the cashiers are used to non gamblers so are patient and helpful when you place bets. But yes shouting at 'your' dog to win is quite a nice high. So for travellers wishing to sample a taste of British tradition or just experience something a little bit different , give it a go.
