“Do Not go there!”
Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It has been taken over by new management and they don't seem to be any better than the last. The room stinks of smoke, was unclean , curtains hanging off the window, broken lamp shade and very very dated.
We asked for the heating to be turned on and it was never put on. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The following day I made a complaint and the manger offered me a refund, he has since refused to pay it.
He seems to think that it's the prious owners fault, this hotel should not be open to the public! Fact!

Should have gone to this hotel with work, got to the hotel to be told they had double booked and they were full.
Wasn't too disappointed after reading the reviews though but as the Olympics were on the nearest we could find was in Epping Forest (Best Western).
This was o.k. but a bit pricey at £120 (£150 if you book direct)
All in all a bit of a let off!

The owner thinks he is derived from mortal kombat and before you feel the need to make a complaint he tells you that he can beat everyone; the food is NOT eatable; personal things that i left in the room got broken when i was away; personal stuff disapeared; the ceilinig fell down with us in the room; they do NOT change the sheets ; they have undocumented employees; employees enter rooms without notice or knocking; neighbors can be heard very clearly through the walls; we often wete left without cold water; when you sleep people enter your room; when the ceiling fell, the owner refuzed to speack direct and told the manager through the wall that if i want to sue i will have to leave immediately; and much much more.....

As i did not book the hotel i checked the reviews after it was all booked and confirmed. When i read the reviews i thought it cant be that bad. oops it was as bad and some. We checked in if you can call it that a book hand written over the pool table. Was not shown to room just gfiven key and remorte to tv.The room was awful metal framed bed no headboard and running along a wall, no wardrobe ???/and a bathroom you literally can hardly turn round in .The only good thing the linen was clean The reviews were right truelly awful . Thankfully we went out soon after arrival
We had breakfast in the morning, It was ok at best but the staff were barely civil ,at least there were 9 of us to make light of things . A few tips at breakfast keep your toast close one of us lost our toast as it was taken away before we could eat it,And also mind your plate they had a tendency to try and take your plate BEFORE you finish
i feel Imust agree with one of the previous reviews. The pictures on the website defenitely DONT represent the hotel
Overall worst place i have ever stayed in believe the reviews it is that bad
BE WARNED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: i dont think there is a good room

I have never written an online review for anything before. I feel I have to as a public duty on this occassion!

We arrived to the front of a very worn and tired looking hotel. We had to ring the bell several times to get let in. The owner was a total thug and his opening gambit was to share his story of a fight he had been in the night before. I would have walked away then except we had already paid a deposit. The rest of the cost of the stay was required up front and I now see why!

We asked for the time for breakfast to be told that there wouldn't be any, despite the booking being for bed and breakfast. The owner then agreed to arrange for his cook to come in the morning (a grand title for the person who arrived in the morning but more on that later.

Once in the room, it appeared clean and tidy, smelt fresh and had clean linen on the beds (see, I am being honest and fair). The bathroom was also relatively modern. However, all the handles on the windows were broken so they would not shut. The room was incrediably noisy even though we stayed on a weekend around Christmas. The TV didn't work properly. The beds were metal frames with a wire mesh and a mattress laid on top. They were short, noisy and uncomfortable.

In the morning we found that the shower did not work at all; only a trickle of cold water. 'Breakfast' was waiting for us downstairs. The 'cook' prepared some toast then went and sat next door to watch TV. To start was orange juice which was still frozen in the jug. The milk for the cereal tasted funny. Only once we added it to the tea and chunks rose to the surface did we realise that it was off. The 'cook' had prepared four trays of food in a warming tray: some dry bacon, the CHEAPEST sausages imaginable (the ones with more bread in than meat), beans and what I think was scrambled egg (it was in lumps with the consistency of a sponge and was a pale yellow).

All of this for £70 for the night... the following day we visited relatives and happened to go the restaurant below the Premier Inn. Why didn't we go there?!

Room Tip: DO NOT GO THERE!! You have been warned!!

Initially put off when I phoned for directions - the man I spoke to was rude and hung up on me. Situation was rectified upon check in with the excuse that mornings were their "busy time" The room was clean enough but barely furnished to be fully functional. no chair no bedside table but the bed was comfortable.
If you want breakfast get down early as it is pre-cooked and left in warming plates with little regard to the fact that eggs go rubbery and that differing guests have differing standards of food hygiene.
I suppose given London prices it was ok but I wont be visiting again as my room was next to the kitchen/bar area and it was very noisy.

Room Tip: Room 5 is next to the kitchen / bar area and is noisy. Smoking is also allowed in some rooms so when...
