“Excellent welcome after a demanding day and drive with good facilities and service to make the stay even more relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2011

Staff were exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable and even when I couldn't find the hotel the receptionist took the time to 'navigate' me in. There is a big sign on the main road however be warned - half of my delegates also drove straight past! That said, it's a great location and I stayed overnight in a very comfortable room; lovely linen and bathroom and facilities all new. Only downside is I think my room was above the bar so a little noise although to be honest, that did not stop me from sleeping! Staff very helpful. Had breakfast in my room. On time and as I ordered. Meeting room was exactly as required and to a good standard. I shall use this again.

A lovely place, nice sized rooms, clean rooms and bathrooms, breakfast and evening meal were fantastic and the spa is nice. 2 of the spa 'rooms' (sauna, etc) were out of use or cold, but one of the saunas was lovely. The 'outdoor' pool area is an indoor pool in which a garage door type thing opens up to view the outside while you are swimming which is nice apart from the other guests walking past outside!
Came on a spa break for 2 nights and got breakfast included (otherwise £15 for whatever you get, small or large) and an evening meal included (£25 spend each). If we hadn't have come on the break package I don't think we would have been able to afford all that!
Lovely place and great service from the staff, but is a proper 'businessman's' hotel so isn't the most relaxing place in the world, but is a nice clean stay and does what it says on the tin really.

We arrived on 23/2/11 , greeted in friendly manner by the receptionist , there was a slight mix up on booking in but solved apologetically and fast.
Lovely room , spacious , spotless with 32" tv with mp3 player input which is a good touch.
lovely evening meal also with great service / attention throughout , cost was probably 10% more than an average restaraunt meal , but worth the extra
Breakfast - perfect again great service.
We will definetly stay again next time we go North

We had a great nights stay at the Norton Grange, i thought the spa facilities were excellent and fiancee enjoyed some massage treatments as well. The room was ideal, clean, comfortable and adequately equipped. We ate in the bar which was good for both value and quality.

having heard good reviews about the hotel i was suprised to find a musky smell in the room, a tv that didnt work and some seriously dodgy plumbing when i called repection, the duty manager came.... eventually and whilst he mented the tv, thought it was acceptable to mask the smell by presenting me with my very own air freshener! the blood on the pillows did not settle me either. I had come to this hotel to see if it would be suitable for my wedding, it isnt and would not reccomend .

Booked online so was slightly alarmed when on check in receptionist asked me to sign paperwork with someone elses name address and email details apparently the computer drags other peoples information through.... I crossed out the incorrect details and hoped I would get the room I'd booked. This was not to be the room although lovely was not made up for a family and the previous guests had not observed the no smoking rule and the room stunk. A trip back to reception found the receptionist to be efficient but not at all friendly or apologetic.
The room we were given was fine the decor was nice, lovely big bathroom and it was very clean. There was a nice size flat screen tv, kettle and hairdryer all the usual bits. The room had a interconnecting door and this didnt help with the soundproofing of the group of people who came back late at night it spoiled our nights sleep. (again not the hotels fault)
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice served buffet style.
The pool is a good size and not deep there were lots of sun loungers around the pool but it was a bit cool for lounging. The thermal suites are nice I felt the whole area was nice and very modern lovely for a spa/adults only weekend treat.
2nd night sleep was much better and the hotel was much quieter, again breakfast was good.
Overall it was good break but £169 b&b was probably maximum I'd want to pay.
