“Nice Stay”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Stayed at the property for one night for business. An older property, they did have a nice workout facility and a friendly, helpful staff at both the front desk and restaurant. I did have a nice meal at the restaurant and the room was a good size, particularly for the U.K. Though I would not go out of my way to stay here if visiting Manchester, if you have business in the area it is a decent option.

My husband and I celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary on Sunday 23 September at the Norton Grange together with 103 family members and were absolutely delighted to have chosen this Hotel.

We had some lovely comments from our family – particularly regarding the buffet - it was wonderful and our sincere thanks go to their Head Chef Phil and his Sous Chef John and their team.

We would also like to thank their Events Co-ordinator Lucy and Ben (their Bar Manager) for their advice and assistance.

At all times, the staff were professional, polite and courteous and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

We had a very memorable day.

Very friendly and helpful staff, good location(booked as we were at the Man city Arsenal game) and overall enjoyable stay.Breakfast was enjoyable and plentiful, the pool and spa areas were excellant in fact one of the best I have experienced at a hotel complex. We enjoyed a marvellous nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. The only downside was the view from our room or more to the point the non view (looking out onto a 10 ft brick wall), although being an optimist it provided privacy and the fire alarm going off at 7.15 am and again at 8.05 am.Overall if back down that way again I would have no hesitation in staying again especially if I could pay £59 b+b pn again.

Lovely location , even though the weather was grey and overcast.
Spa facilities were excellent, especially looking out to the open gardens from the hot tub!
Room exceeded all expectations.
Restaurant for excellent evening meal and more than can eat breakfast!
Staff were all welcoming and looked after us.

Stayed here this weekend for an impromptu weekend away with my boyfriend. Got a special rate - £69 per night for a double room with breakfast. Usually this would be £144 per night.
Nice setting, lovely staff greeted us. Mix up with our booking (our fault, not theirs) meant that we couldn't get into our room at first. Receptionist was lovely about it.
We were in room 235. Good size. However, we think it must have been located directly above the hotel bar as we could hear music coming through the floor for most of our stay.
Room very clean with a nice view. Boyfriend forgot his toothbrush so went to ask at reception for one - they don't keep them.
En suite bathroom was nice. Great shower. But, bathroom door lock fell off in my hand first time I tried to go to the loo!
Comfy bed. VERY annoying TV. Switched itself off for no reason on various occasions. Remote was pretty useless too.
No plugs by the bed (minor I know but annoying for phone charging etc)
Ordered room service on the first night. I had the cheese board which was lovely. Boyfriend had the ham sandwich, which was made to sound a bit more fancy than it actually was! Also shared a pudding which was advertised in the menu as coming with honey and mascarpone ice cream and turned up with marzipan ice cream (yuck!) plus a jug of pink, tasteless liquid (?). For the price we paid (£25 for these three items including a service charge), would have expected better.
Breakfast was fantastic. Great selection of continental stuff and a high quality full English. Staff were very polite and helpful.
Went into the Spa for an afternoon. Changing rooms were nice, but had no place to put your used towels and consequently they were lying all over the place! Also, only those who had booked treatments were supplied with complimentary robes, otherwise there was a charge for rental of them. Pool a good size, but sitting round it without a robe was a frosty experience! Steam room was lovely. Aroma room was, I have to say, pretty pointless! Steam room had more aroma and was much warmer. Same with the ice room. Room itself wasn't that cold, just has a sink of ice crystals to store your water bottles. Two saunas were nice. Jacuzzi/hot tub nice, with a hatch opening on to the hotel drive way - not the ideal location really. Lots of stares!
Two 'experience' showers, one of which was broken.
Had a meal in the restaurant on our second evening. Waitress was very helpful and gave us a table when there had been a no-show. Ordered from the fixed price menu - 2 courses for £15.
Word of advice to any cheese lovers like myself - DO NOT ORDER THE GOATS CHEESE FONDUE!!!
It is not at all what it is described as. It is a pile of salad leaves and lumps of beetroot, sprinkled with walnuts, with four tiny dollops of goats cheese on the corners of the plate. SO disappointing.
Main was nice. Drinks are pricey - pint of guinness - £4.10.

All in all, a pleasant stay, but a few things let it down. Would definitely have been annoyed if we had payed full price.

Room Tip: Rooms 231 - 236 above bar - quite noisy!

Stayed at this hotel over the weekend for a wedding reception, Hotel was great, nice views, room was surprisingly large, even with the double and child's bed there was still loads of space. Could not fault the staff either. Breakfast was excellent, wide choice and well cooked, only down side was with 10 of us sat at a table we had to keep asking for tea and coffee instead of them just leaving us a pot of each. The only BIG problem I and most of the other guests had was with the bar prices ( Cue response from manager saying "prices are in-line with other 3-4* hotels in the area"). Now I wouldn't mind paying 3.90-4.10 for a pint but not when its warm and flat and when returned swapped with another warm flat pint. But as stated this is the only bad point to this hotel
