“Fallen Angels is a must! Wot no champagne!?”
Reviewed October 4, 2010

Came here as a birthday treat, they do a really really good deal that includes three course meal and a room for a set price. Upon arrival to the room my partner had discovered that the bottle of wine she had planned to be in the room as a surprise for me was not there, it was a lovely gesture which didn't have the impact she had planned due to the incompetence of the hotel staff, i see from these reviews that its not the first time this has happened! Sorry Royal Toby...home goal! All this said, the stay was very enjoyable with the Fallen Angels being a must.

Stayed in this hotel for business. The staff were great,if not a bit eccentic, but I come from the South, and I think the North is after Watford Gap.
The rooms were clean, the breakfast was fabulous.
Only two complaints , and they are very minor, I could not find an alarm clock to wake me up at 5 am, so asked for an alarm call,Unfortunately th alarm call never happened, so ......

Got a cracking deal of the net, and sometimes you dont know what to expect..
This place is lovely...
Hotel rooms are a good size with tea making facilities and a trouser press.
Good bathroom and in reality faultless.

It has connected to it, a bar and a couple of restaurants , that are very popular..!!
I would recomend giving this a try...

Only one slight downside , they want to charge your credit or debit card at the time of booking...Not on arrival, but when you book..Just be careful...

Lovely place off road, so plenty of parking. Two restaurants. Very plush, and staff very courteous and efficient. Evening meal and breakfast very nice. Rooms spacious, and immaculately clean throughout. The only slight fault seemed to be a noisy heater in the room, but only a minor point. This place is a little gem and we will definitely be returning.

We have stayed at this hotel several times - we have family in the area that we visit quite regularly.
The standard of the rooms is excellent - double bed as standard + a single and, as in our case they will put in an extra bed for you if you have 2 children.
They have 2 restaurants, one in the main hotel offers standard type fayre and the second is an Itallian restaurant (which is excellent) adjacent to hotel.
The one thing that shines out about this place is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Everybody wether it is on reception, restaurant or the bar was exceptionally smiley, helpful and friendly and all seem to be happy in their work - which I think is a good sign of a well run hotel.
Thoroughly recommended.
