“A classic monument”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

If you can get a tour here it is well worth the effort. There are plans for proper guided tours but at the moment you have to ask at reception. Highlights are Queen Victoria's toilet and the grand hall.

“A beautiful building”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

A beautiful building in the wrong place unfortunately. Rochdale is like the slums in places. Worth a look if you've never seen it before.

“Looks Great Online, Better In Person”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

This building is a work of art, apparently it was coverted by Adolf Hitler who vowed if Germany had won the second world war it would have been shipped back to Nazi Germany brick by brick.

I've noticed they've recently had a virtual tour done that you can navigate though on Google Maps (awesome piece of technology) It really brought the place to life for me, so much so that I just had to go an visit, they do guided tours too see you can have an interactive approach to learning it's great history.

Beautiful hall upstairs, amazing stained glass. Worth a visit to look at the architecture, stained glass and painted friezes.
