Rochdale doesn't get much good press the shopping centres are poor and to be avioded. BUT this town Hall is a beauiful building. It does weekly tours. car parking is right out side. There is a museum just 5 minutes walk away called Touchstones ( again beauitful building) and there is a Co-Op museum too just down the road. the buum is an old fashioned pub and has lovely food ( this is next to the co-op museum). There is agreat Garden Centre called All-In -One Garden Centre just 5 minues away that has a food hall, restaurant with fresh food, pets section etc.

“Fine municipal building”
Reviewed July 14, 2012

The council is nothing much to write home about. However this Victorian building is regarded as one of the finest municipal buildings in England. It is constructed in the Gothic Revival style with a 190 foot clock tower. The stained glass windows are a noted feature and the building apparently earned the admiration of Adolf Hitler. The Town Hall has a park in the background and there is plenty of parking space as there is car park at the back, free after 3.00 pm.

“Historical town hall with beautiful stained glass”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

The town hall clock, on tower number two (the first burnt down) tells the time for Rochdale, chiming every quarter. It dominates the town centre, and it equallly lovely inside-worth a look
