Went on a Saturday night so expected to wait for table and food but it wasn't overly busy and the service was excellent.
The food was good [portions Large] but felt the menu was a bit restrictive.
Atmosphere and decor is good and we will visit again.

We dined at the Cedar Tree for the first time in 18 months expecting it still to be an al a carte menu. The Tapas menu is very limited and we had to ask for the specials menu. We were served at the bar with drinks and told to sit in the lounge area.. No effort was made to bring any menus but by chance one of the tick menus had been left on another table so we used that to choose our dishes. We had to ask for a wine list and we were finally shown to a table 40 minutes later. The food was served 20 minutes later in dribs and drabs and was reasonably tasty although no effort was made made by the staff to see if everything was ok. We ordered desserts and Tony's Chocolate cheesecake arrived about 15 minutes later. After he had eaten his dessert I called the manager/owner over and asked when my Eaton Mess would arrive. This had been completely forgotten and she said she would go and prepare it herself. When it arrived there was very little evidence of any meringue but was a tasty strawberries and cream dish! The only saving grace was that, because of the hi-life card we got a 20% discount on the bill. I thought the whole idea of resataurants participating in the hi-life was to encourage diners to return, We won't bother!

I would like to say im sorry you did not enjoy your experience with us on Friday 17th August. We have very few disappointed customers so I do like to respond when we do. I remember you and your husband that evening as you were the only couple with a high life card and I remember the dessert incident. Your table was booked for 8pm and I recall you came in early and therefore you were asked to have a drink in the lounge area. You weren't offered a menu while in the lounge as they are already on the tables in the restaurant when you are seated, along with the specials menu. You were taken through to your table just after 8pm and your order was taken shortly afterwards. I apologise if you waited for your food but as everything is prepared and cooked fresh to order you may experience a delay on busy weekend nights. Tapa's is a sharing concept and different to most other types of cuisine as all the dishes do not come out together. It does state on the menu's that "dishes will arrive in the order they are prepared". This is standard in all authentic Tapa's restaurants. I do apologise if the 40 dishes to choose from was not substansial but again when all ingredients are fresh there has to be a limit on the amount of dishes you can produce. Apologies for the dessert misunderstanding. The waitress takes full responsibility and admits she didn't hear the order for the second dessert. Again, im really sorry you did not enjoy your experience that evening we do pride ourselves on having a majority of happy customers.

We tried this tapas restaurant after reading reviews on trip advisor. The food was below average in quality and certainly not worth the £50 we paid for two people with only one drink each. We would have had more than one drink but the service was so poor we couldn't get the waitresses attention as they seemed to be entirely focussed on serving people who we assumed were regulars. Well, we certainly won't be regulars as there are much better tapas restaurants around.

I have just visited the Cedar Tree with my husband for a midweek meal and was very disappointed both with the service and food.
we was told on arrival that the wait for a table would be 30mins, and told to take a seat in the lounge area after 40mins i asked to see the menu and was shown to a table after 1hr expecting the restaurant area to be busy! but was shocked when there was only 3 othere tables of couples and 1 table of 4. No drinks were offered at this point and the food was very slow to arrive.
just to top off our experience while still eating the waiter commenced to clean surrounding tables with furniture polish!!! leaving us with the taste and smell of mr sheen.

Ate here with my partner on Sunday 15th July. Could use a tastecard which made it super value.
Tapas dishes all freshly cooked, unlike some other tapas restaurants.
Pan fried sea bass, Cubes of duck breast, marinated chicken skewers to name a few and all nicely prepared. Service good and friendly, and to top it all, as good a house red as you will get at the price, nice rioja full of flavour.
Will certainly visit again and no hesitation in recommending.
