“A good choice for a city break !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

We stayed here at the beginning of March for three nights in a city break like experience organized by ourselves. We were indeed very happy with the services and especially with the receptionists which were extremely kind and accommodating. We stayed first night in a rather basic room facing main street which was exposed to the loud music coming from the night clubs just adjacent to the hotel. Luckily we came really late that night and the noise stopped after 01.30 a.m. so we could sleep OK. To what we have paid by booking via booking.com the value for money was what we would expect. The nice surprise came the second day when the receptionist offered us an upgraded room with no extra payment to help us avoid the noise expected in a Saturday night. The room was on the back of the street this time and much quieter, although the beat of the music could be felt at some point vibrating everywhere ... The room was excellent this time, very spacious, with a large flat screen TV set and having a dinner table for four and a functional kitchen. The bathroom had a bath tub as well. The whole furniture was new and of a different quality comparing with the previous double room we stayed in. We were very happy with this arrangement and duly grateful to the lady in the reception. As a bonus the Wi-Fi was available in that particular room even better than in public spaces. Hotel has a very nice and cozy lounge where you can relax and watch TV or use the Wi-Fi while having complementary tea or coffee and a very conveniently located bar just outside the lounge which also communicates with the reception lobby. Cleanliness was a strong point for sure at this hotel with towels and beddings changed every day and rooms being attended carefully by a very nice and friendly staff. The other details are just as described in the other reviews. Location is by all means acceptable as you can have the underground taking you to the center and from there wherever you need via a single line, "Central", which is almost cutting in half the whole city. The neighborhood is not particularly pretty but is quite offering in restaurants, beauty parlors and night clubs, plus a park nearby. The breakfast is included and is the usual expected, however it is true that sausages are just awful. One other weakness there is the challenge to get a decent toast as the toaster is prone to burn the bread, while totally uninspired the fire sensor is just above it, so we experienced a number of unnecessary fire alarms during breakfast :)
All in all we were very satisfied with the hotel for what we have paid and the bonus received was definitely the quality of a very kind and friendly staff (thinking again about the upgrade we were awarded) !
I would warmly recommend for the travelers looking for a decent, safe hotel available at a very good value for money.

Room Tip: Try to book rooms at the back of the main street to get a quiet place. If you can afford go for a su...

We booked this hotel as we wanted to go out in the local area. The hotel was great lovely rooms( not brilliant mattresses but u get what u pay for) a good bar down stairs and a nice breakfast in the morning. The only real down side was we had to leave our cars in a public car park as the hotel car park was full which seeing as we paid well in advance you would think they would have enough parking available!

Am sorry but i wouldn't stay here again the room was clean but very basic!!! Breakfast was not the best! Staff all very friendly, If you arrive late the parking is very limited. Good choice of restaurants close by but all in all i would find somewhere different to stay if in this location again.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

My wife and I stayed in St. Georgio Hotel from 18th February untill the 21st February 2013. Our room was fine. We got clean towels and bed clothes everyday and the room was tidy however the noise coming from outside our room was annoying. There was noise from people talking and closing doors and when we were in bed we could feel our bed broad vibrating everytime someone closed a door...... There was also a lot of noise coming from the street of traffic so would recommend anyone thinking of staying there to ask for a room away from the main street. The breakfast in the morning wasn't bad. For a 3 star hotel it's what you'd expect, though the sausages were awful! We could only pick up the hotel's wifi from either in the bar or lounge. Not very convenient! On the 1st night we had dinner in the hotel lounge. It wasn't great but again was what you'd expect for a 3 star. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The closest underground station is 2 mins walk away so it's handy for getting into the center of London athough it does take about half an hour so if you don't like the thoughts of all that travelling then wouldn't recommend staying there. My overall thoughts of the hotel are it's an ok place to stay for 2 or 3 nights but not any longer than that. The food is just ok and the staff are very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the back of the hotel because there is a lot of noise coming from the street

I had read previous reviews on Trip Advisor about this hotel and wasn't disappointed. It's situated in Gants Hill, close to Ilford, less than a minute walk to the Underground (Central line) station which brings you directly into Liverpool Street, Oxford Circus, Bond Street, etc.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 15 year old daughter. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very inviting and cosy. We had to wait in the lounge for our room to become available as we had arrived too early. The lounge was really nice, well laid out, had free tea/coffee making facilities and free Wifi (although it didn't have a very strong signal), the seats were really comfy.

Our room was a bit smaller than I expected but having said that it was a perfect size for myself and my daughter. Two single beds, a wardrobe, a dresser with large mirror, great hairdryer, tv with remote and many channels, two bedside lockers and black out curtains. The bathroom had a shower cubicle, no bath but not sure if other rooms have baths if you needed one. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and were serviced every day.

There had been a mention here about noise from the nightclub below. We did hear voices and laughing a couple of times but it didn't bother us, however, if you have zero tolerance for night time noise then you might want to ask for a room to the back of the hotel.

There are restaurants to suit all tastes right across the road - Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian and a local Sainsburys, pharmacy, take away pizza and cafe also. You definitely wouldn't go hungry!

We only had breakfast one of the mornings and I'd have to be honest in saying it wasn't great, however, it was really busy that morning so that may have been the reason.

I'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and intend to return.

The hotel was very nice, clean and spacious for the 3 night stay. We were greeted by friendly staff everyday. A 2 minute walk to the underground station and straight on to the central line which takes about 30 minutes to get into the city. The breakfast was okay, could have been a bit more variety but was sufficient enough. Rooms were cleaned everyday. As a personal choice wouldn't stay here again as just to much hassle with tubes.

Room Tip: Choose a room towards the back or higher to reduce the noise.
